there's a warning this morning for drivers who use crow canyon road between alameda and contra costa counties. crews are making emergency repairs to the road out there. there have been several mudslides the past two months. the work out there today will be focused on the area near norris canyon road in castro valley. we're checking to see if that road is completely closed or maybe just long delays. the work begins at 9:00 this morning. it's expected to be finished by noon time. >>> and we want to show you video of part of redwood road in castro valley. you can see where an 80-foot section of the road collapsed. now it will stay closed until all of that damage can be repaired. there's no estimate of how long that will take. engineers say the road was damaged by the big storms last month, but the road did not collapse until yesterday. >>> time is 4:06 later this morning governor jerry brown and other state leaders will talk about a plan that would pay for fixing california's roads. now the governors proposing a $0.12 per gallon increase in the gas tax. his plan also includes higher veh

well, we are awaiting confirmation from contra costa sheriffs, but we have been able to put together at least part of the scenario based on information we have gathered here in lafayette. an apparent kidnapping and attempted extortion here at the chase bank in lafayette. it ended when police surrounded a car here in the parking lot just about 2:00 this afternoon. now, some of the details we're learning are from the website news 24 680, they are reporting that a resident of lafayette was kidnapped from his home on sweet drive, that's about a mile from here, and driven here by the suspect to this bank, chase bank, ordered to go in and withdraw money. at that point with the suspect still inside the victim's white subaru, outside the police were called. a witness who works at a business next door told us this is what she saw when she went out on her lunch break. >> i was going to my car. it was just a couple of cars, you know, down to my car. there was a guy sitting in there. after i sat in my car, i saw the police car came and he was point the gun at him. >> as for a gun, according to t
