it is great to see you, and thank you to my atlantic council colleagues. it is great to be back with my atlantic council family and to be included on this distinguished panel. ishink the china pitch particularly timely. the biggestrhaps coming out of the reflection group support. change in the leaders waking up to the severity of the china challenge that called for a consultative body in nato to discuss the issues of the chinese influence in europe. the report also calls for a revamp in the way that nato does partnerships with an emphasis on partnerships in the pacific. that provide something to build on. the point that managing china's rise has to be a truly transatlantic issue. i think that is true. the only way we can out match china is if the united states and our allies and partners at nato do this together. this would be a key strategy of the biden administration whose foreign policy priority will be china to average allies to take advantage of that competition. i would also say that the essay takes on another key theme of the reflection group report
