the county's health department revealed this week that fentanyl-related overdose deaths in the countys year rose from 17 in april to 41 in may. eric re era is a director of services delivery for the county's behavior health services department. i think a lot of people are being exposed to deadly drug fentanyl without their knowledge, their purchasing drugs. >> from people that or perhaps on reliable and these drugs are being laced with fentanyl. and that's what's resulting in people's deaths. the county's coroner's office reported 161 fentanyl fatalities in all of 2022. county leaders hoping to bring that number down this year. part of strategy next so be distributing fentanyl test strips to people who want them and they'll be able to test. >> drugs that they may be taking on their own and see if there laced with fentanyl county's behavioral health services department also launched a public awareness campaign. >> tv, social media and bus ads targeting people ages 14 to 29 warning of fentanyl-laced pills circulating in the community. doctor, jumanji is the medical director for the vall

yeah, this happened in alameda county early this morning. investigators say the chase started in hayward. >> deputies say the stolen 2007 gray toyota camry was carjacked in oakland and was spotted driving northbound on interstate 80 deputies tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver ignored commands and kept driving towards san leandro. and that's where san leandro police play spike strips in front of the tires. deputies say the driver tried to drive around the spike strip. lost control of the car crashed head-on with a tree on davis street near pretty to street. alameda county firefighters released a picture of the wreckage. you see their fire crews were able to pull a 14 year-old girl to safety. >> 2 suspects died at t scene during the investigation. authorities say the car the stolen car was involved in a homicide in the central valley yesterday. deputies say this is an active ongoing investigation and anyone who has information asked to call oakland antique a police. >> other news now the second largest reservoir in california has rea
