i'll turn it over to courtney to talk about design and i'll be back to wrap it up. >> good afternoon, i'm courtney, assistant project manager for transbay and i'm going to quickly walk you through the proposed changes to the schematic design. i'm here to answer questions as well as [inaudible] the architect of this project. the following changes have allowed for an additional eight units. this is the approved floor plan from april 2013. the biggest change here is in building 7a. in order to cut costs the basement was removed and some of those uses were -- the uses on the ground floor needed to be rearranged in order to accommodate those. biggest change was moving the office that was originally facing the garden down to the street. this will actually help to activate the street at all times of the day. the rest of the street is town homes so this will give eyes on the street during the day. and then there's some relocation of services, just an expandsing of the -- like, mechanical services and stuff on the ground floor. the other change was adding an additional story to building b and

it's courtney.k a lot about walmart's online sales and how they potentially could be a competitor to amazon one day more so than anyone else. are you worried that they've now brought down their forecast for online sales growth to 25% from 30%? >> not worried. i think it would be great if they grew it faster. but think about this, walmart has to be the player. they're the second largest seller online behind amazon. they have to continue that growth 25% a year is a pretty good growth rate. if they're going to be able to be a successful competitor across the board. right now, they're the biggest retailer in the world. but amazon is the biggest online retailer in the world. well alibaba is the biggest i guess. amazon is the biggest one here. walmart is going to have to play that game seriously so they're investing a lot of money in to it to grow it faster. you saw what they said the reason that roi is under pressure because they're investing heavily in internet selling. >> is that a good way of looking

but as courtney regan tells us, the company is focussing on initiatives to jump start sluggish sales and profits. >> it could have been worse, walmart post another quarter of sluggish u.s. sales but better than anticipated. they are struggling to get shoppers into stores posting the seventh straight quarter of falling u.s. traffic. profit was in line with expectations for the quarter, for the world's largest retailer lowered the full-year guidance saying higher than expected health care costs for employees and increased commerce investment will weigh on results. >> the sales number is better than i think people were expecting and better than we were expecting and the costs are pretty much explicable by health care and e commerce investment and a bit by the overall economy. >> reporter: walmart sees despite continued economic challenges, the company is optimistic about the second half of the year, seeing bright spots in the smaller neighborhood stores which the company plans to open more of. walmart's online sales are a bright spot for the company, though the retailer scaled back grow

courtney regan has more on what is behind home depot's strong earning's report and what is ahead for the do it yourself chain. >> reporter: retailers may be lagging, though far from the case with the world's largest home improvement store. home depot built another strong quarter straight through and all around improving profit and sales above expectations, posting record customer transactions, strong traffic throughout the store and across regions, a stark contrast to many other retailers' reports. home depot executives attributed the sales strength to new store layouts, including the core of the store and demand for spring m merchandise and appliances like counter top and window instillation. >> people had not put very much money into their homes during the housing downturn, so you're seeing the release of demand that is driving remodel activity and wallet shares shift to the home improvement space. >> reporter: while the housing market has been a driver for home depot, on the conference call, the cfo said she's most concerned about mortgage financing availability, though not everyo

courtney regan looks for some answers. >> reporter: it hasn't been an easy year for retailers, even the stronger ones. macy's reports lower than expected earnings and sales and lowers the sales expectations for the full year. macy's executives say many consumers are still not feeling comfortable about spending more in an uncertain economic environment. >> i think macy's continueso stand above the peers. i think it's an unstable backdrop for the consumer. we have a lot of things against us. we have durable shifts. weather out of favor. so we'll see what happens in the back half. >> reporter: it's the broader economic conditions that seem to hit on the heart of what is going on with the consumer. twc's chief retail strategist says the recession may have ended but consumers are still concerned about the cost of living, jobs, economic stability and what the future will hold. >> the future as we see it is not uncertain, but it is a bit cloud did in that we don't see a huge economic change necessarily. what we do see is the consumers holding back and trying to ensure they live is safe, comfor
