it's scaring the retail sector, which is why retail reporter courtney reagan is here to try to explain this. >> i'm going to try to explain. >> you're going to do a great job. trump's tariff has gotten a lot of attention. a tax proposal that is scaring the pants off of clothing and shoe retailers. the plan was proposed over the summer but became more of a possibility under a gop-controlled congress and white house. three parts to it. corporate tax of 3% certainly would be welcome. immediate depreciation expense and the third is the zinger for retail. the border adjustments for nonu.s. manufactured goods. 90% of clothing and shoes is manufactured overseas. here's an example of how it would be adopted as is. the gap buys a sweater for $80 from a manufacturer overseas. gap has an additional $15 and other expenses associated with that sweater. a shopper ultimately pays $100 for the sweater. so, taxes calculated like this. $100 revenue, minus $80 cost of the good, minus the $15 in additional expenses associated with the sale equals a $5 profit. say gap pays a typical 35% corporate tax on $5

courtney reagan is still working on her list and joins us from an amazon warehouse in new york city. ourtney. >> reporter: hi, kayla nap is very true. stores have been the answer for somebody like me who waits. but amazon prime now offers two-hour delivery. that of course is if you live in one of the 30 cities where it's offered and you pay that $99 annual membership fee. so yesterday in new york city, i actually used amazon prime now to start to fulfill the list from a charity wish list i got. now, the selection is more limited than the full site but i was able to get almost everything from cook ware to tools. i placed the order just before 2:00 p.m. and we had a camera at the facility to catch the order being fulfilled which happened in eight minutes. now, the earliest free delivery window was 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. while i wrapped over gifts, the delivery person left the facility around 2:45 p.m. and jumped on the subway with our items and came to deliver them just about 3:10 p.m. so say 50 minutes earlier than the window and just about 90 minutes after i ordered. he scanned the items a

courtney reagan joins us with the pulse of last-minute shoppers. probably racing right now.ah. that's right. good morning to you, melissa. there's just two days left until christmas if you haven't paid attention to the calendar. while many americans have shopped online, pushing online sales up 11%, you're out of time if that's your plan now. unless you're ready to pay those expedited shipping fees. it's in-store retailers' turn. but shopper track says shopper traffic should be heavy today. could be the third busiest day of the season with the 26th actually forecast to be second busiest to black friday. now, a slice intelligence scan of 1.7 million online shopping receipts does show that amazon is dominating online sales. so far this season at least through december 16th with 37% market share. that's followed by best buy, but at a distant number two with 3.9% and then target, walmart, and macy's. most consulting groups are confident that total holiday sales will hit that forecasted range to grow between 3% and 4%. however, it will probably be at the expense of traditional ret
