cupertino. kpix 5's jackie ward is live in cupertino this morning. jackie? >>> apple is pushing back against a tax for the city of cupertino. jackie ward is live in cupertino this morning with more. >> reporter: cupertino is saying this proposal would add $10 million for them to work with, but apple would be severely impacted and they are not thrilled with the idea. apple is definitely the biggest company that would be affected but the tax would hit all companies with 100 or more employees, taxed on a per- employee basis this had of a flat fee based on square footage that's in place now. supporters say it could fund a light rail or commuter lanes. seattle tried to pass a similar tax but repealed it after pushback from businesses. we spoke with a 31-year resident who supports the idea. >> if you're a corporate or shareholder, you probably don't like the idea. but the larger corporations are in the areas where we have infrastructure needs, so i could see where that could be helpful. >> reporter: apple employs more than 25,000 people and argues they already do
