nbc 10's cydney long is joining us live in cherry hill. we see some rain out there. how is turnout affected by the rain? >> reporter: as you know mother nature will always have an impact of people getting out on the roads to actually cast the ballot. with the rain drops today, we have definitely seen a little lighter this afternoon. despite the fact here in new jersey, we will be choosing our next governor, the turnout has been especially light. from the suburbs of cherry hill. >> it's like the election last time. i'm not totally crazy about either candidate. >> reporter: to the rutgers campus in camden, voters young and old are making their voters heard by doing their civic duty in new jersey. the number one concern, property taxes that continue to skyrocket in the garden state and cost of living on the increase. >> the tax policies that are being implemented historically in new jersey are pretty uneffective. >> reporter: now lieutenant governor has promised an audit of finding $1.5 billion on her promise to cut new jersey taxes. >> i think they are way too high and
