: i'm daniel miller. clouds out there this morning as we take a live look at the boston skyline and storm tracker meteorologist sarah wroblewski, the sun may not be out but really we have warm weather. >> on the way, daniel, chilly out there now, grab a jacket and temperature in the 30s, although 41 in boston now, 40s down across the cape and when you see that sunshine, that really boosts temperatures quite quickly, 46 in nantucket. we are anticipating to see break in the cloud cover for the day today, that will help boost the temperatures into the 40s by your lunch hour, upper 40s by the afternoon and this is just a start of a warm-up heading our way. but notice what happens overnight. we got a few showers that are going to start to move on in. so high temperatures today, a little bit better than yesterday, but tomorrow it gets even better. i'm going to talk more about the warm-up as we could be also timing out the risk of those showers tomorrow. i got that all coming up. let's get look at traffic now wi

danielle: welcome back. i'm meteorologist danielle vollmar. i want to talk about those cloudy skies we've been seeing across the area. temperatures are actually in the 40's and 50's in most locations right now. as we go through the day today, we're not going to warm up that much. in fact, we hold steady but it's still mild. that sunset time coming at 4:12 this afternoon. for the month of december, we've been running well above normal. yesterday was no exception. hitting a high of 60 degrees. as we go through the next couple of days, our temperatures degrees. that will be the morning high. through the afternoon we will sweeping on through. that will also turn up the winds out of the north and west and make temperatures much colder on antoinette? antoinette: sounds good. hundreds of half-naked santas hit the streets of boston for a good cause. snng it's a good thing-- or is the 16th annual santa speedo run proceeds raised go to the play ball foundation. since its inception, the event has raised over $1.6 million. see, it's all for a good cause.

danielle is with us this morning to talk about the chilly temperatures behind you there, danielle. danielle: that's right, doug and sera. good morning to all of you out there. we are starting out in the 30's and 20's this morning in a lot of spots. it is 33 degrees right now in boston. 29 in worcester. 31 concord. so it's a chilly start out there plus you've got to factor in them yesterday. well, they're still sustained this morning at about 18 miles an hour in worcester, at about tublght. and it's making it feel like the teens in worcester, like 16 there, like 17 in pittsfield. and more like 24 degrees in boston. now as we go through the next 12 hours, here's what happens. to back off through the afternoon. so that should make it feel even better outside. although temperaturewise still feeling with the winds like the low to mid 30's in boston. a couple of flurries around the area especially on cape ann and out in western mass. this is still associated with lake-effect snows coming off ontario, but the big story today is high pressure building on in. we're going to see a lot more s

danielle: good news. the temperatures at kick-off will be around 50 degrees but it will fall back into the 40's. not so bad for a december game. some areas are experiencing some went weather not necessarily here. this is in seattle. yesterday a snowstorm made roads treacherous and even led to a highway closure. in all, about 15 to 25 inches of snow was dumped on part of the north cascades. and that's not all. that system also brought strong winds and rain. we haven't seen that scene yet. in fact, we haven't had any snow as of yet to date. but on average to this date last year alone we had 2.6 inches so far in boston and 7.5 inches in worcester. so we're looking for that snow but unfortunately a mild forecast on tap. although this morning, there is going to be some patchy, dense fog and some patchy black ice. please be careful. but the warm trend continues this afternoon with temperatures back into the 50's. we're watching an ocean storm headed our way for tuesday. the latest models tracking it off shore w
