danielle: welcome back. i'm meteorologist danielle vollmar. well, we're talking about a colder start to your sunday. we are going to see more sunshine through the day today so it's a brighter day. but it's also a colder one. we're watching for a rainy period tuesday afternoon into wednesday. and then big temperature swings are also coming this weekend. for today, we're only warming up into the mid 40's. those winds will be cranking from the north to north and east at about 10-15 miles an hour. now we're dry tomorrow but we are looking for some significant rain beginning on tuesday into wednesday. and here's how it all happens. basically you have colder air for monday and all day monday essentially but tuesday those winds shift to the south. what that does is bring in milder air. it also brings in some rain. you see an area of low pressure and a warm front. it will bring in heavier rain beginning tuesday night into wednesday morning. when all is is said and done, anywhere from a half an inch to an inch of rain is likely. antoinette and frank. f

danielle: welcome back. i'm meteorologist danielle vollmar. well, the month of november has been a warm one, folks. yesterday no exception. topping out at 64 degrees in boston. still running well above normal. in fact, we actually hit record highs yesterday around the region. bless you, antoinette. portland, maine, tying the record at 61 degrees. and hartford, connecticut, 64 degrees at 67 yesterday. don't get too uses to it though. even though it's a mild morning outside and temperature s are start inning the mid 50's, you notice some rain showers around. that's associated with the cold front so watch what happens as we go through the morning hours. we're dropping back into the 40's by about lunchtime or so. and then as we head through the afternoon, the mid 40's, lower 40's, and this evening the 30's. so grab the winter coat. antoinette and frank. antoinette: a little sneezy this morning. all right, danielle, thank you. good morning, danielle. danielle: good morning, frank and antoinette. this morning we're talking about rain showers pushing through parts of the area. you can see a couple of heavy downpours moving towards the south coast of rhode island. all this is lifting up to the north and east. and there's more behind it out in western mass, too. so we are going to leave in showers through the morning hours although they will be very hit or miss. and notice the farther up north you go in northern new england, we're actually seeing a couple of snow showers. and there is more rain behind this. you see this line of showers over carolina. this is all headed in our direction. so let me show you the future cast on everything. and as we go through the morning hours, we're going to leave a couple of sprinkles around. it's once we get past, say, lunchtime, 2:00 that real heavy rain starts to break out especially boston and points south and east. i think worcester, you may be included in this. it's going to be a very sharp cut-off because it's a coastal area of low pressure

we want to get right over to danielle with the rather chilly start this morning, danielle. danielle: good morning, j.c. and antoinette. yes, it's cold out there. temperatures starting in the 30's and 20's across the area. actually it's 14 degrees on mt. washington. worcester. 38 degrees in boston. it is is in the 40's now on nan tublght and the vineyard. and then you have to factor in those winds because they're out of the west. they're anywhere from about 10 to now 17 miles an hour sustained on nantucket. and that makes it feel even colder outside. so it feels more like 23 in worcester, like 25 in orange and lawrence. and 26 right now in portsmouth. there. we do have a lot of sunshine though to start the day. but then we'll see more clouds through the afternoon. 51 to 56. it will be milder this afternoon that's the good news. unlike yesterday afternoon. and the winds will not be as brisk as they were yesterday. so let's show you the satellite and radar right now. pretty much not much going on as weather. again, it will be a mix of sun and clouds through the day today. but

danielle vollmar is standing by with our forecast. good morning again, danielle. danielle: good morning. that means that that sunrise is coming up in just about 15-20 minutes. it's an hour earlier than yesterday. i want to show you what's happening. we do have a couple of showers out there this morning to talk about. especially in southern new hampshire if you're traveling up 95 towards portsmouth and all the way up into southern maine back through manchester, traveling up 93 towards concord, greenfield seeing some. once you get into central mass though a lot of these showers point. it may not even be making it to the ground because the air is is so dry. disturbance. it's going to swing in some energy through the morning hours so we will have to leave in a chance for a couple of showers lunchtime. and then temperatures will sunshine. already in the mid 40's, low 50's on the vineyard. so we are mild. breaks of sunshine through the afternoon. that will allow the high temperatures to warm well into the low to even mid 60's in spots. you'll feel those winds out of the

danielle: good morning. i'm meteorologist danielle vollmar. well, looking at local live radar behind me, you see nothing on the map right now except for cooler temperatures outside this morning to start. we're in the 30's and 40's, feeling more like the 30's and 20's due to that wind out of the west at 10-20. now high pressure dominates our weather today. keeping us dry and then a back-door cold front comes through tomorrow. but it will be a dry one just bringing down cooler air for your tuesday. in terms of rain, we really could use it. it looks like thursday and friday we have good chances from a cold front coming through of bringing in rain especially thursday afternoon into friday evening. in terms of how much rain we could use, well, we're down over eight inches for the year in boston. down over 7.5 inches for the year in worcester. j.c. and antoinette. jc: i heard her say near 60. that's what i'm grasping. a bizarre traffic stop in california. antoinette: a car gets pulled over with nobody behind that wheel. that's because it's one of go

danielle: welcome back. i'm meteorologist danielle vollmar. i want to say hell toe to my friends at the new testament christian school. i vis id them earlier this week in plymouth. and we talked about all things weather. they knew so much. they were a great group of kids. i want to talk about what's going on right now. local live radar showing some showers in worcester county moving into 495. also more along parts of the south shore, the cape and the islands. now what happens today is this cold front triggering the showers, but that area of low pressure is going to ride along it bringing in steady rain. i think mainly after 2:00 p.m. today. and east. that continues overnight. and then monday we turn much colder. in fact, the coldest air all season moves on in. antoinette and frank. antoinette: danielle, thank you. attention holiday shoppers! frank: marty walsh issues a challenge in connection with next weekend's small business saturday. boston's mayor got a jump on things reminding residents to shop, eat, and play locally this holiday season.

going to toss things over to danielle vollmar with a look at our weekend forecast. hey, danielle. antoinette: good morning, frank and antoinette. temperatures starting out on the mild side. in fact, some of these temperatures are where we should be during the day today. our average high temperature is actually 54 degrees. we're already starting at 60 in boston. upper 50's in taunton. lower 50's through worcester. upper 50's through merrimack valley. in fact, as we go through the next 12 hours there, temperatures will warm into the low 60's before falling back into the 50's by this evening. notice we're going to keep in a lot of clouds out there today associated with the cold front that is pushing through right now. one thing that that cold front is going to do, also kick up those winds. you're going to feel them out of the north and west today at about 10-20 miles an hour. so 58 through 62 degrees for your high temperature. it's going to be a partly sunny, mostly cloudy day. we are watching more clouds building on in here. they are associated with that cold front that is stirring
