cnn's danny freeman is live in pittsburgh for us watching the trial proceedings. rors heard from one witness who survived the incident. what did she share with them? >> reporter: yeah, in fact actually today has been an incredible day because we've heard from now three and on the fourth person who actually survived that tree of life synagogue, but that one witness that you're talking about was particularly poignant because not only did carol black survive this shooting and live to tell about what happened in that 17 g synagogue, her brother did not survive the shooting, richard godfried. carol black said it was an otherwise normal day on that saturday morning, october of 2018. that's when gunfire rang out. she and a few other members of her congregation fled down to the basement and hid in a closet just waiting for, hopefully, this gunman to pass over them. but then what happened is melvin wax, one of the men who was hiding with her in the closet, he was standing, as she describes, after in the closet and half out, he couldn't quite fit. at that point the gunman op

cnn's danny freeman takes a closer look at the case. >> reporter: there have been a lot of developmentsning of the week. two prisoners escaped at the beginning of the week, now there have been two arrests but one inmate is on the loose. first let me tell you about the inmate re-arrested. he was arrested on thursday evening at 10:30 p.m. and a u.s. marshals spokesperson said they were surveilling an area where they believed grant may have been hiding out and then they saw a man walk out of a home in what they call full female muslim garb. they followed him to an empty parking lot and confronted him and arrested him. they say that grant was visibly surprised, but he did surrender without incident to the u.s. marshals. there was also a second arrest earlier in this case, a 21-year-old woman, accused of actually helping these two men break out of prison, but at this point we still don't have a lot of details as to how she helped these men escape. these facing four felonies, including the felony of escape. the defense attorney was not giving any comment to cnn when we asked. the last suspect

so, we have byron fox, danny freeman, -- and paula reid. okay, omar, you have an oak date on our breaking news tonight, the suspect in a horrible texas massacre is now in custody. what have you learned? >> francisco oropesa, he was on the run, of course, after being sussex to speculative killing five people, including a nine-year-old. after what wasn't really a dispute, but seemed to be one family saying, hey, do you mind shooting your gun on the other side of the house because we have a baby in their. trying to sleep. they tracked him down, they actually found him in the town called cut and shoot, texas, less than 20 miles from cleveland, texas. which was where this shooting happened. it's came from a tip to the public, where the fbi says tip from a public came in at 5:15 pm, at 6:30 pm, they had actually apprehended him, take a listen to officials on how they found the suspect. >> he was caught hiding in a closet, underneath some laundry. they effectively made the arrests, he is uninjured. he is currently being taken to my facility in col
