hi there, darcy. >> reporter: good morning. we're here across the street from trump international hotel. i can tell you it is business as usual today here just blocks away from the white house. at this hour, we're awaiting a press conference from d.c.'s police chief. as soon as that press conference gets to you live. sources tell nbc news that this man who drove here from pennsylvania is apparently a trump supporter and did not mean to harm the president. let's show you some video of a security guard posted out front of the hotel this morning. there is heightened security here. the suspect in this case, brian mulls, is from he hedenboro, pennsylvania. police received information that he was here in washington apparently at the hotel and had weapons. police found a gun and a rifle inside his vehicle outside of the hotel, along with 90 rounds of ammunition. now, he's been charged with carrying a pistol without a license and possession of unregistered ammunition. now, police say this man is a veteran. let's hear some reaction from
