jonathan: joining us now is the jp morgan chief strategist, david kelly. good morning. ? david: probably. the key thing is that the federal reserve will not assume, speculate or predict what policy on tariffs or fiscal policy will be. they have an idea but they will not put it into thinking. i do not think they want to pick a fight. it will have a fight at some stage that they do not want to pick it right now. so markets are pricing in at a quarter-point they will do the quarter-point. i will say that markets at this stage have only priced in two more rate cuts. they are stopping short of the dot plot. they say that the fed cut short early 2026. the market is saying given this agenda and given the pieces of this agenda there will be too much flat inflation and debt growth to make that a rational policy. jonathan: the fed does not speculate and the market does which explains the daylight. would you endorse that daylight? david: i think the way that both the stock and the bond market have acted is logical. i think that the assumption is that we will get a big fiscal stimul

david: kelly jane, what happens now? it appears the republicans have the senate. it appears by a sliver they are going to have the house but that would be enough to have one party controlling three houses of congress. will the first order of business, as i heard one of donald trump's advisors say be to solidify a new tax code either solidify the one that will be phased out in 2015, renew the original 2017 tax code or provide something completely new, they could do it, they have the house in the senate and the white house. >> reporter: that another issue a lot of democrats flip-flopped on, a lot of them trying to present themselves as more moderate and people who voted against those 2017 tax cuts were saying they were in favor of extending them. i feel if kamala harris had just admitted her administration made mistakes americans are very forgiving people. they just reelected donald trump. they didn't want to do that. i think that's the first order of business, second, the border which as you noted the economy, the border, the two top issues. david: issues like the

glad to have you david kelly, and jeff and debra. and what do you believe the fed will do? >> they will cut it 0.25, and they are not data-depen department, but policy-dependent as well. how they implement the policy is going on the depend on how expansive the trump agenda turns out to be, but they don't know that yet, and because of that, they will try to say as little of that by admitting that the fiscal policy next year may dictate the amount of the monetary policy. >> stephanie, do you agree with what david just said, and 0.25 cut and as we head into next year an intense focus on the fed's part of what is going on fiscally, and in other words with tax cuts and spending? >> yeah, powell does not want to make any predictions of the fiscal policy, and they will stick with the data as it come, and likely .25 and then .25 again and then move to every other meeting cadence. and we are thinking that much of this will not be implemented until the end of 2025 and they will continue with that trajectory until they have clarity of the fiscal policy being implemented. >> all right,

we are joined by david kelly. was u.s. attorney for the southern district of new york. he has handled all kind of complex cases. he was my former boss when i used to practice law. welcome back. i tried to run through both the connection to today's news that an attorney general is exactly who would deal with the president claiming military powers. so one, how does that fit into the role you would want regardless of party and two, even if you fairly mention the long history at the doj, have you seen anyone who comes into the job like gaetz? >> even historically, i think presidents either want or should have wanted and looking in the rear-view mirror, which they had an attorney general who can say no. and i think even rfk served that role for his brother. it's somebody who can say i hear what you want to do, you can't do it that way. can we find a different way to get it done? i'm not trying to defeat your policy. i'm trying to do it in a way that's not going to come back and bite you in the rear end. i think there's so many ways that can happen here that if you have someb

joining us is nbc's kelly o'donnell from west palm beach florida and back with me is former republican congressman of florida, davidg his cabinet? >> we certainly see that reflected in many of the elections is loyalty to donald trump and the movement that has certainly been part of it. in some instances, you see these people have been around term for some period of years. others were allies from the first-term and others became political partners in the fight over the 2020 election and in the time since. you get some of that. clearly, donald trump is a magnet for florida and relocated here formally and when he ran in 2016, he was a resident of new york and changed that along the way. his family members relocated to florida, as well and completely changing the identity of the family being new york-based to being florida-based. some supporters followed along, as well. there is a sense that there is a certain florida sensibility reflected in how he is choosing some names. in the case like pam who he put forward for attorney general, she was not the first choice she happened to be a two-time florida attorney general. h
