david louie has been covering both candidates. he joins us live now from san jose. david? >> reporter: well, kristen, congressman mike honda won his seat or for the ainl time two years ago by a margin of less than four percentage points so a primary rematch against row qana will be closely watched. if they end up being the top two vote getters in the primary, they'll face off again in november. it was standing room only at the political science club at mission san jose high. the guest speaker was row qana running the second time to unseat eight-term incumbent mike honda. >> how many people here are sons or daughters of immigrants? >> reporter: most of the students raised their hands. qana's parents immigrated from india. that's not uncommon here. and he's urging these teenagers to encourage their parents to vote next tuesday. >> what results have you done? how many decisions have you made as a policy maker? >> reporter: honda has the advantage of incumbency and seniority serving on the powerful house appropriations committee which sets priorities for federal funding. qana

and this is one of the spots where my colleague david louie said there are officers and agents. this is adams avenue just a block away from fremont boulevard. and a couple of blocks away from safe d safeway. behind me, you see the flashing lights of numerous police cars. they are part of a larger contingent of police vehicles including s.w.a.t. trucks which have been circled part of this neighborhood. we have interviewed witnesses who say they saw the shootings or at least one of the shootings that occurred next to the auto zone car parts store. and that's just a block away from us. they say the suspect was in a white pickup truck. take a listen to all three. >> we seen the truck come into the parking lot and then they drove into the back of the officer close behind. told him, you know, don't move, stay in the car. the guy ended up getting out of the car. the officer said, be still, don't move. and they exchanged shots and the officer was hit. >> i guess he saw one of the shooters like shot at his truck. he saw one of the shooters shoot an officer closest to safeway, okay? and r

here's reporter david louie. >> reporter: the new lawsuits are based on complaints by two underage malesho were students of ap chemistry teacher douglas lay at gilroy. it alleged he shows them videos with sexual content and used language so graphic, they would not say them out loud. >> it involves such graphic language that frankly, i don't want to say it and she's not going to say it. >> a girl has already stepped forward after her mother saw a questionable text from douglas lay. even though she reported this had in october 2014, lay was allowed to continue teaching. all red's legal team says the two new victims could have been spared if the district had taken action then. >> but for the negligence and failures of the school district, these children would not have to suffer what they are suffering today. >> reporter: no one from the gilroy school district was available for excellent. the lawsuit seeks damage for emotional distress and negligence. >> the last thing a parent would expect would be for the school district to ignore a warning that a teacher posed a danger to children. >> rep
