is live at the center with a preview. good morning, delia. again, we're envying your assignment this morning. >> reporter: good morning. we just got the exciting news that the discovery shuttle has been safely demated, lifted off that 747 carrier that first brought it into the washington area. that literally just happened a few hours ago. the press relations person just showed us a picture. she was very excited. so certainly another exciting day here. mike, it may not be as dramatic but certainly very memorable. crews begin the very slow and careful process of a dance they call it eventually bringing out enterprise, the prototype shuttle that has been housed inside this hangar. they will tow that out at 7:00 a.m. and then eventually it will be replaced with the tried and true discovery shuttle. the piggyback flight that we all saw on tuesday was in fact the easy part. it took two days to remove the shuttle from the 747 carrier and now begins that slow and deliberate dance as the shuttle pulls into its retirement home after 39 flights and 27 y
