democratic presidential candidate has shifted her focus to tax cuts... she spoke to a packed room in clinton yesterday. while there... she pitched a plan to give a tax credit to people who care as president, i will propose a tax credit to help family members offset up to six-thousand dollars in caregiving costs for their elderly family members. that will help family budgets stretch. it will help seniors maintain independence the focus on tax breaks for the middle class puts her at odds with her biggest democratic rival. bernie sanders has backed proposals that would raise taxes on middle income earners. republican presidential candidate ben carson was stumping in davenport this weekend. he held a town hall meeting there. afterwards... he was asked about his poll numbers... which have fallen in recent days... you have to understand that over the last few weeks, there's been a rather sustained barrage on behalf of the media, trying to damage me as much as they possibly can. um, and i expect that to continue because they can't really find a true scandal. a
