nbc 10's denise nakano is joining us live in studio to explain the findings of the investigation. >> james comey said hillary clinton was extremely careless for the way she handled sensitive information during the time she was secretary of state. he stopped short issuing criminal prosecution. he said it didn't appear any work-related e-mails were intentionally deleted in an effort to conceal them. the fbi sifted through some 30,000 e-mails that clinton provided to the state department. he said the dpgs was honest and independent using only the facts. >> no outside influence of any kind was brought to bear. i know there were many opinions expressed by people who were not part of the dpgs including people in deposit, but none of that mattered to us. >> reporter: a clinton campaign spokesman said we're pleased that the career officials handling this case have determine thad no further action by the department is appropriate. now donald trump weighing in was quick to respond. he tweeted, the system is rigged. general petraeus got in trouble for far less. very, very unfair. as usual. bad

i'm denise nakano. septa is try to make changes to ease commuter congestion. it took the rail out of service because of a structural defect. we're live at the bryn mawr septa station. >> reporter: this is one of the places where riders will be able to see some additional local service, but it is going to be another couple of hours until they can get their hands on those new schedules for tomorrow. that's because we have just learned that septa is still working out a final agreement with amtrak to lease some of its equipment. it already has a deal with new jersey transit, with maryland transit, but it needs this last piece to get those final schedules. in a lot not far from 30th street station, nbc 10 spotted the train cars from maryland that have made their way to pennsylvania. by tomorrow, they and other leased cars will be on the rails for septa, all brought in to help ease congestion after the silver liner fives were taken out. at the cornwell heights station, workers spent this sunday getting ready for longer trains that will run here on the trenton line.

denise nakano is live at police headquarters with new information. >> reporter: homicide detectives are looking into several cases all targeting prostitutes and if, in fact, these cases are connected, these crimes have now escalated to murder. these photos of a man on a bike are making their rounds in a kensington neighborhood where a woman was beaten and stabbed to death saturday night. >> what he did to her, he could do to a child. the girl was a good girl. >> reporter: the 35-year-old victim escaped from an alley and stumbled naked about a block away to jasper and ledderly where she collapsed and died. police say the killer may be targeting prostitutes in kensington. two women were attacked earlier this month by a man matching the same description. unlike the most recent case, they survived. >> scary. it's scary. >> it's just scary because i have little brothers and sisters running around the streets. >> reporter: for life long residents it's a reminder of the so-called kensington strangler who confessed and was linked to the sexual assaults and murders of three prostitutes in 2010.

first we want to send it back to denise nakano back in philadelphia with the latest on the ambush in baton rouge. >> the nation's attention is once again shifted to a deadly ambush against officers. three officers are dead, three others are hurt. and one is described as fighting for his life. the officers were shot after they responded to a report of a man with a gun. police say the shooter was killed and his motive remains unknown. >> chaos followed an all too familiar call of officers down. >> shot fires. officer down. shots fired, officer down. >> officers responded to a 911 call of a man dressed in black fatigues walking down the highway. this cell phone video captures the ambush that killed two police officers and one sheriff's deputy. >> these men risking their lives to protect and serve this community were taking out -- taken out the way that they were. >> the officers who died were married and leave behind children. deputy brad garafola, a father of four. officer matthew gerald with baton rouge police department four months and officer montrell jackson, a new father recently

nbc 10's denise nakano reports from coatsville. >> reporter: police dash cam video shows a rock attack on a coatsville police officer. >> this was an unprovoked attack on law enforcement today. >> reporter: as police are on heightened alert after deadly attacks on officers in dallas and baton rouge, seemingly out of nowhere a man standing on the street outside the coatsville library this afternoon appears to wind up and throw the rock into the front windshield of the officer's marked police car. >> you can see where that rock hit the windshield and shattered it. >> the officer gets out of the vehicle and he's basically being attacked. he's right there on him. he actually at one point picked the rock back up that he initially hit the police car with. >> reporter: the officer tried to use a taser but the police say the suspect 29-year-old eric watson blocked it by holding up a bag. the struggle on east lincoln highway blocks from the police station ended with watson's arrest. but not before another officer who arrived as backup broke his sternum. watson faces charges of aggravated assaul

denise nakano was live.we're learning what may have sparked that violence. >> reporter: that's right. police are telling me the violence was sparked bit victim accidently bumping into the shooter, and now the 15-year-old victim is recovering after going through surgery for a bullet lodged in his stomach. police could find no blood, no crime scene, just witness accounts what they saw and heard. >> i started screamscreaming, aa gunshot. >> reporter: police transported the 15-year-old victim to the hospital. they found him collapsed on the sidewalk, feet away from where they were seen arguing the night before. >> this stems from an argument that started yesterday and it resulted in a shooting. >> reporter: neighbors say they shielded their children from the gunfire that happened around 5:15. >> i ran into the house, had all the kids on the floor. >> reporter: police got a search warrant for a house on griscom where they believe a young woman ran to hide the gun. that woman is said to be uncooperative. they are
