mental health disability and other health-related disabilities. brown's plan is called "realignment." and the intention is to transfer thousands of non-violent offenders from state prisons to county jails. what the san francisco sheriff's department and our adult probation office saw was this was an opportunity and it's an opportunity to transition eligible lower-level offenders, who are convicted things like drug possession or theft, and to transition them back into the community with supportive services to help them break the prison cycle. so the community assessment service center is part of that strategy. it's a one-stop shop, where former inmates can meet with their probation officer and they can enroll classs that teach them job and life skills and they can get connected to housing and health resources. this has been a project that our office has been very passionate about supporting and we provided support from the very beginning. at the early stages we helped them find a suitable location that could be made fully accessible. we performed t

it is true some of the things that we see going on in senior disability action. if you're a senior or person with disability in a rent controlled affordable housing and been there for a time you're walking with a giant target on your back and it's causing mental anguish of people. you see landlord it's people in the housing and you know this they pull the mickey house games, not cashing the checks, low level harassment and low down thing just to force the people out. that's what is happening. another thing is the senior and disability service provider community which does generally pretty good job but still there's a great need for more cultural awareness sensitivity toward lgbt seniors and people with disabilities especially among seniors. people get older and end up in the mainstream places where a lot of them are forced to go back and not admit they're gay. it's very, very problematic, so one thing i would mention and i don't want to take more time but a recommendation that has come up consistently with people that we met with is some kind of mandated e endors

almost half of all households headed by someone with a disability did not have a computer. compare that to only 20% of households that do not have a computer if they were headed by someone without a disability. similarly, 43% of homes headed by someone with a disability subscribed to broadband compared to 72% of all homes, a 29-point difference. our data also shows that older americans, particularly those 65 and older, are less likely to live in a home with a computer or to have broadband internet access at home. and what is more, as we look further into this data, we found that when we looked at other socioeconomic factors, like in come or education, it did not fully explain it the gaps. even after accounting for a socio-economic and geographic factors, african-american and hispanic households still lack a white household in broadband adoption by 11 percentage points. at rural households still lacked urban households by five percentage points. these ongoing disparities and our critical need for our nation's future to overcome them are white today's summit is so important -

i know that people with disabilities are paying the price. there are disability advocates and worked closely with the mayor's office. according to the mathematical san francisco has twice as many brakes with hundreds of thousands of brakes issued by other bay city's. they suggest that plagued abuse it common place and they confiscate several brakes every year. enforcement is not enough we need the right rules to stimulate the right behavior. and brakes should help the disabled and that's why we have the number of unmetered blue spots adding many more spots. i want to have enforcement easier with increased oversight by the dmv and making the plagued photos available. another recommendation is out of the advisory committee is disability brakes shouldn't mean parking for unlimited time which is law school san francisco to requirement meter payments. i'm committed to working with the mayor's office and office of disability to push those remedies forward and hope when we consider this in september i will as well. the rest of my items i'll submit >
