dracut 1.1 inches of snow. about a half inch here at the station. what we're talking about is a lot of sleet. what is sleet? sleet is when it starts to snow, falls through an area that is relatively warm and then it kind of refreezes into a clump of ice. it bounces when it hits. you hear that ping, ping, ping going on. freezing rain which we may have problems with as we look inland. this is where that area of really cold air is right on the surface. maybe just the surface itself is cold. it falls as rain. then it freezes on contact. so this is the area we'll be watching as we head through later this morning where we on. if you get enough cold temperatures and enough of that rain falling you see what happensment the ice builds up. that's why as you look out towards the berkshires we could get as much as a half inch of ice out there. there could be power outages as well. cindy: the big difference in temperature, mike, between that and the coastline. in boston by noontime it's 40 degreesment we're in the lower 40's this afternoon. this afternoon into t
