( darya ) in the east bay...e bust was part of a multi-agency anti-drug- trafficking patrol. crews also found more than 11 tons of narcotics in san diego... and intercepted 7 drug smuggling ships in less than a month. the coast guard arrested 23 suspected smugglers. most will be prosecuted in the u-s. the drugs that were seized have a street value of 235-million dollars. ( darya ) in the north bay... novato police are looking for a bank robber. police say this man went to the u-s bank on grant avenue friday and demanded money from the teller. no weapon was mentioned or seen. the man left the bank... heading towards the novato library. ( james ) bart police headquarters is home to the video surviellance room that houses the 4-thousand cameras in the trains and 48 bart stations. bart monitors the feeds not for crime but they search specific time codes and locations when a crime has happened. if they can find any video evidence of that crime they download that clip and give it to investigators.

in the east bay, the evacuations are over but a fix for a damaged gas line is still in the works. >> it could take weeks to solve. amy hollyfield live in bay point. amy. >> reporter: hi, reggie. the site of the fire. we were kept far away from it yesterday. they can work in the dark. drone video of the area. it was burning. the heat was up to 400 degrees in the underground pipeline that was in a vault. officials ordered 1,200 homes to evacuate in case the pipeline exploded. a few evacuation centers opened up. some people slept in their cars at the bart parking lot. some were thinking the evacuation wouldn't last that long. they weren't back in their homes until 2:30 yesterday afternoon saying the whole thing was frustrating and scary. >> it could happen again. you never know. it might be too late. i don't like it. they need to do something about this. it's unsafe. >> they believe a grass fire started in the vault. it took a while to get out because it was full of gas. they had to drain the gas out of the pipeline so the fire would die down. it took longer than they estimated it would.

we also have upper 60s in our east bay valleys. the reason for that is the winds that have been blowing all night long. no fog to speak of, and it's really the temperatures and the winds that we're concerned about.

as we look at the forecast, south bay, east bay aren't going to get much out of this. we will see this targeting the coastal areas. san francisco and the north bay. as we look at the future-cast, it does show we will have a slight chance of rain, mostly late tonight and tomorrow for the south bay and east bay. we will be watching out. rainfall totals, it looks like most of us will get a quarter of an inch or less. as we look at parts of the east bay and the south bay, our rain chances do continue through tomorrow, highs in the mid- to upper-70s. as the rain clears out, humidity drops. thursday will be a beautiful day. highs in the low 70s. we will warm up in time for the weekend. for san francisco the rain tapers off by thursday. heading over to meek that rain is rainy at the toll plaza. >> it is the bay bridgel drople volume build and also remember once you get to the san francisco side of the bridge, fremont street, you have the restrictions over there, the closure underneath that transbay transit center continues. the changes to developments and the repairs they're d

breaking news in the east bay. police are searching for a suspect in fremont after someone was found dead inside a home. >> abc 7 news matt keller is live in the grimmer neighborhood where investigators are still on the scene. matt? >> reporter: good morning, jessica and reggie. i was told that investigators are going to try to talk to witnesses who heard the gunshots early this morning. another key piece of evidence could come from surveillance cameras on homes. officers will be checking the homes in the area. it started 12:30. police were called to charleston way where shots were officers found a person in the home. they person died at the scene. they were utilizing a drone from the alameda county sheriff's office. there was a little bit of time between the gunshots and the call to police. the suspect may have had time to leave the area. this is the second homicide of the year in fremont. matt keller, abc 7 news. >>> matt, thank you. >>> today marks exactly one year since a firestorm devastated parts of the north
