now heading into the east bay shoreline. the atmospheric river is going to bring widespread moderate to heavy downpours during the overnight hours. just within an hour from now, we're going to see widespread light rain for everyone in the bay area. but overnight, that's when it's really going to get intense and severe. we're tracking widespread moderate rain by 3 o'clock for your monday morning. and we're also going to track that commute impacting your monday morning if you're heading to school or work, we could even see pockets of heavy downpours. in addition to gusty winds, 80 miles per hour or less with that high wind warning. just now going into effect through 8 o'clock for your monday morning. but don't let your guard down, even though most of your monday afternoon and evening looks dry by tuesday morning during the overnight hours. we're tracking another round of severe weather from this atmospheric river. until we dry out completely from this moderate storm by tuesday afternoon where we could get 2 to 4 inches in rain

. >> in the north bay and east bay and frost advisories for most of the bay area coastline and east bay shoreline. so we're going to feel it from coastal valleys. everyone going to be under that winter chill radar for right now. tracking a drier conditions, starting to clear out as well. now that that weak storm has passed, brought those of you in concord about less than a 10th of an inch of rain or less. but it's that cool. dry air mass and that lack of blanket of storm cloud cover that temperatures are really going to dip. so right now we're seeing pretty uniform numbers mid to upper 40's for most of the bay area. but we are expecting to see temperatures below 32 degrees at freezing threshold. for those of you in santa rosa and livermore just to name a few. so heads up and bundle up there. in addition to that, we have a wind advisory mainly for north bay valleys and highest peaks. that's in effect right now through monday afternoon because we could actually see wind gusts upwards of 50 miles per hour or less. and those winds starting to howl for our highest peaks in the north bay, napa and fair

right now we're getting a little bit of a break along the coast and east bay shoreline still tracking some light scattered showers in our valleys in the north bay, east bay and south bay. but >> it won't last long because take a look at this. we're tracking widespread lightning strikes from our next storm set to make its way inland by around midnight tonight. and that storm to our north over going to also tap into that moisture to our west. so we are expecting to see some pretty active weather during the overnight hours. so don't be surprised if you wake up to the sound of thunder. we will notice some heavy pockets of rain at times as that storm track shifts to the south and east. but it is going to be fairly short-lived drying out by sunday morning and it's going to remain dry through most of sunday afternoon. so great reminder and friendly reminder to just clean up. if you can, especially with our next storm right on its heels because as one storm exits, another one arrives. this was going to be even stronger. believe it or not. starting sunday night at 9 o'clock, we're expecting a

parts of the east bay staying a little dry with spotty showers along the east bay shoreline as well. we will all get a lot of rain as this evening pushes on through. you can see that some of it is still off to the pacific and will start to move over the santa cruz mountains, which is a concern as we go through this storm system with those mountains being the bull's-eye of this heavier rain. let's walk you through hour-by-hour so we can see what you expect as the morning rolls on through. still, a lot of that rain, that yellow, orange color you see, that's more intense rainfall by about 9:00 a.m. it pushes through the bay area, still hit or miss as the evening goes through. what's really concerning is this 8:00 hour when it really starts to light up. that's what we can expect as the evening goes on through. until about 2:00, 3:00 a.m. when it starts to move through the central valley and of course the sierra getting dumped with fresh snow in the mountains. rain outlook as we go through this storm system, we will get up in the north bay about 1 to 2 inches of rain. again, another spot

the bulk, the concentration actually right along the east bay shoreline from oakland all the way up through. as you can see here, berkeley, albany else out toward san pablo east bay wide. we're looking at about 7600 customers without power. last stop for you, the north bay. and you can see just by the colors on the map, a lot these mountain areas of marine county hit hard with power outages. in fact, the entire north bay, as i pull out the show runner park in santa rosa. we're looking at about 22,700 customers without power right now and the hardest part for pg e line crews that are trying to get these power lines fixed is the wind they have to calm down before more and more of these communities will be turned back on. john was saying that perhaps later today they'll get that chance. but especially tomorrow, that's their narrow window to operate before the next round of wet weather, which is really going to hit us on saturday. >> all right. well, you said the north and the wind and in sonoma county, the wind knocked a tree into a home killing a child. this happened in the city of occidental

pretty widespread downtown san francisco in even throughout most of the east bay shoreline with that wide swath of yellow and orange. that means moderate rain from novato all the way into fremont and everything else in between. so we're seeing widespread light rain for everyone else in the bay area's this plume of moisture taps into some subtropical moisture from hawaii out in the pacific. and that's why we're expected to get inches of rain when it is all said and done by monday morning. at 2 o'clock, we're going to see widespread moderate rain with some pockets of heavy downpours expected near santa rosa. and we're going to notice that storm track shift to the south and east into the east bay and south bay by monday morning at 5.30, and we are going to notice a drying trend for those of you in the north bay. after that with widespread drying by at around 9.30, but still watch out for that ponding and gusty winds with that high wind warning in effect from now through 10 o'clock monday morning. could see gusts upwards of 80 miles per hour or less could actually see some sunshine monda

we have a little more popping at 50 already. 52 antioch for the east bay shoreline, just grazing the lower 50's now, 47 meanwhile, up to santa rosa. so because of the winds, temperatures have been support a little bit in the double digits in some cases, as you will notice. and that's again, due to the fact keeping the air circulated a little bit when tracker shows that direction still coming from the north and that wind advisory for solano county is still going to hold to about 4 o'clock for today. what's interesting is later on, we're going to see the marine layer come back again from the bay, but not from the usual place such as the ocean. okay. let's go through today. there you have a temperature that humidity levels drop daytime heating little bit. but what happens off? tucker kain a straight here in the delta yet coming in from the central valley. that's all that moist soil. that moisture being brought out to our direction. and then later on the traditional coast brings it on. and as you can see for san francisco peninsula and off towards the east bay, the drought situation, loo

all down the peninsula, east bay shoreline, yeah. ion we'll be watching because as the next storm system approaches the bay area the low pressure and wind pushes the waves even closer bringing with it the highest of tides. high tides tomorrow morning as we prepare to go back to school and work, know careful as you're driving out there on the roads. we'll also see the flood watch remain through monday evening because of the next atmospheric river we are tracking. those problems continue, rivers rising fast, saturated ground also a concern. once we get past this we'll see the rain be able to give this all an opportunity to soak into the ground. storm ranger tracking that right now pockets moving into vallejo, sacramento as well. the cell moving over the east bay since we started our newscast here, concord over lafayette, san ramon pushing into the tri valley and also areas such as antioch and discovery bay but as we give you the wider picture look at this band all along the peninsula into san jose as well. the orange and yellow color. a

we're looking at just a few light showers to moderate showers across the east bay shoreline. overall now where we're sitting on radar, you can see the system just spinning off further and further inland as we make our way through the day today, we're going to see very, very rapidly clearing conditions. so definitely something that is improving weather wise through the day today and we are going to be seeing conditions out there that are definitely drying out more and more towards the tail end of the day, a flooding risk. you can see out there green areas. we are under flood watches through midnight tonight. that is i'm going to expire starting tomorrow as conditions begin to dry out future cast of wind gusts, winds working their way in from the north and west. we have high wind advisories right now and temperatures currently are in the 40's. oakland, berkeley, alameda at 45 degrees. san francisco at 46 degrees right now as we make our way through the morning. temperatures out there, we'll start to increase wet conditions on the tarmac. 50's for your daytime highs later on tod

also 40's lining up the east bay shoreline chelsea with oakland or 47 40 for hayward popping at 52 san francisco. but santa rosa, 37, that's going to we're warm pocket. looks like up in the north bay in sonoma county might see some of the warmer numbers for the bay. and as far as any interruption that we're getting today, basically mostly sunny might be some high clouds cause medically across the sky a little bit. so heading in future cast for again, a little pocket of winds kind a little bit in solano county. they get a breather for a while. we have to err on wednesday morning and there's another pop this more contained up in solano county may be spilling a little bit into napa or perhaps and the contra costa, but it's going to not is spread over the entire bay will have little bit more of a breeze going on, as you will notice here, even some parts of the north bay here. and this takes us to thursday morning. so these passing systems are dry. we're very familiar with that from recent years. so for today, we've got mostly sunny and cool highs near about 60 well inland places in the nor

here's what we've got right now on the east bay shoreline. hazy, overcast skies, although some blue trying to break out here and there expect couple raise the sun to come with storm tracker. 4 quiet for now. there's a little break in the action. here's what develops tonight overnight to your monday morning when tracker. here's what we got right now. way some breezy conditions again, the continuation of winds from the south sometimes after a storm, they come in from the north or the northeast. we just haven't been in that category over the last couple of days, just because of the storm track has been a little too far in this direction. if it were a little different, get the consolation of some drier air filtering back in here for today. some breaks in the clouds, but basically mostly cloudy, not a lot of temperature moving either, but a break in the rain. that's what we need to hear. then tonight, it redevelops. here comes the rain. this will probably be a lot of lightning until the latter portion of it going through the overnight hours tomorr

east bay. it's got a lot of the east bay shoreline involved in there all the way up to concord, as you will see. again, it kind of breaks up a little bit up to the north bay, but of course, they were pretty inundated overnight as much the bay was there. you have it in motion to give you a general idea. the clearing patch here, i don't think we're going to see a lot of sun. and if we do, the problem is when you have that daytime heating, it just fills back up again in the sky. so that's problem area, futurecast for as we march forward here to see that break. i just mentioned as we approach around the noon hour, looks like we're getting it starts to subside a bit. maybe in some patches of sun and there which only fills in with a little bit more in the way the few spotty showers working in here as we go into the evening hours. then tomorrow morning, it looks like a line just to greet us. before we get a break sunday afternoon again watching the futurecast rainfall totals. this again stopped at about 7.30. there's the coverage. but yet another dose happening as we get into later and the overnight u

the east bay shoreline and the east bay inland valley as well. also not too bad for the whole east bay, about 1800 customers without power got a cluster near renda. another out near kensington. the hills just outside of berkeley, as you make your way up into the east bay hills and then in the north bay, again, the marin county areas where we have hillier terrain. that's where we're seeing more of the outages in all about 10,400 customers without power for all of them are in sonoma and napa counties. you can see the heaviest of those clusters relevant right along 101, from rohnert park up towards santa rose. a 12 and still looking at some heavy rain out there. this is only going to complicate an already. >> very saturated situation with flooding in many spots all the way from san francisco down to the south bay to 80 in 101, are packed with water and looking at oakland down to san jose. also still continuing to see moderate in some pretty consistent rainfall. i'll be tracking all of it as we go. >> and several reports of flooding and a 20 minute s

the highest concentration of the east bay still is along the east bay shoreline, really from oakland, up towards richmond for the east bay. it's about 1500 people. customers without power right now. and then lastly, the north bay will slide there and show you what we're looking at up near rohnert park and santa rosa and then down along the coastline down towards marin county. that's where we're seeing most of the power outages. but again, a lot of it is coming back on line 6,500 customers and across the entire north bay without power. right now, words yesterday we were talking about 10's of thousands of customers without power. so progress being made. there will be more progress made today and hopefully we can get more. people turned back on before storms tomorrow potentially turn the lights back off. let's hope that doesn't happen. but it seems to happen with every storm. sure doesn't this storm really to that hole up and down the peninsula, downed trees, power lines and more. >> kron four's haaziq mod-yoon takes a look at the damage in san mateo county. >> take a look at this huge t

not only do we have frost advisories in effect for most of the bay area coastline and east bay shoreline. >> in addition to that, freeze warnings for our coldest inland valleys in the north and east bay. this is going to go into effect starting at midnight tonight through 9 o'clock monday morning. and that's going to be replaced by freeze watches monday night through tuesday morning. so we're going to see these chilly temperatures during the overnight hours through wednesday. so just a heads up there overnight lows tonight. as you can see, dipping below freezing. so subfreezing temperatures for those of you in livermore at 29 degrees. not that far behind to santa rosa. cooling down into the low 30's with 31 degrees of peas for the conquered and even fremont downtown san francisco. you're not included in that frost advisory, but you're still going to cool down into the mid 30's at 37 degrees. so don't let your guard down. this is a night where you certainly want to bundle up in today's daytime highs was an indicator of just how chilly it's going to get tonight. today we were 5 to 10 degre

east bay where you've got walnut creek and the like minor outages there. not a lot to report, but here in the upper east shore of the east bay shoreline from the bay bridge uphrough albany enrichment, that's where you have your highest concentration of east bay outages. all together. we're looking at about 7600 customers without power in the east bay. and now as we slide to the north bay, you'll see a lot of orange and yellows and greens and a lot of it in more of the remote, rugged hillier terrain of napa and sonoma counties. that's where outages have been upwards of about. 22,022 1700 customers. that number really hasn't gone down yet because this is a lot tougher for pg need to work on with all the trees and all the vegetation surrounding a lot of these power lines. the winds have to die down. they say before they can really get up into the power poles and bring up the cherry pickers to work on this. that's going to happen later today will should see the winds died down john saint tomorrow. also a great opportunity for pg need to try to get some of this work done. get this power restored before we have our next round of wet weather which don't forget, co

san lorenzo up to alameda right there along the east bay shoreline. quite windy. o focus on the peninsula to because as this latest line of showers pushes and it really is the north bay and the coast that singer strongest winds right now. winds are about to pick up for more and more of us as this line of showers scoots on in futurecast shows those areas of red. those are your downpours that even though make their way across the bay area rather quickly can still result in some ponding of water on roads. some standing water out there from time to time. so do take this seriously. these next few minutes, just taking a little bit slower. also watch for debris. zinn roadways still have the potential of downed trees because it is so windy and so saturated pockets of heavier rain remain through the rest of the morning, too, on up towards noontime. you're still looking at areas of heavy rain. so your lunch time, maybe one to stay inside for it. we finally calm down towards the latter part of the afternoon and then a nice calm night tonight as you go to sleep tomorrow, the c

are still noticing some spots that are pretty localized with gusty winds along the coast and east bay shoreline. so just keep that in mind. temperatures, though, for the most part, thanks to those warm dry breeze is it's almost like a hairdryer going on in the bay area. and with that, we're seeing temperatures in the low to mid 50's san jose. 52 degrees mid 50's for downtown san francisco and oakland and even nevada. but those of you in fairfax, calmer winds speeds there. 46 degrees in concord. 49 degrees. as you step outside for your sunday night. so fortunately, we're going to see a lot more 40's for overnight lows as opposed to the 30's that we have been tracking. so no freeze warnings in effect tonight, santa rose in the mid 30's as his livermore with downtown san francisco in half moon bay. a little bit milder as well. cooling down into the mid 40's. so temperatures tomorrow we're tracking widespread upper 50's to low 60's. pretty seasonal temperatures. but those of you in novato and even santa rosa, you're going to be a few degrees above average santa rosa get you're actually going to war

but for the rest of the east bay shoreline, it's not too bad. the inland east bay. we did have some outages around walnut make this map a little bit bigger. but the situation has gotten better. these areas that you see in yellow had been orange earlier this morning, which indicates the situation is resolving slowly but surely and then finally will stop in the north bay where we can see there are widespread outages. but a lot of them are minor. so hopefully that will be quick to fix all those green dots pg e crews are out there right now. they have about 5,000 personnel working right now to restore power will keep you updated as new numbers come in. all right. >> take a look at area here in the degas salmon creek road in the day. again, this is in sonoma county and what happened? the road failed because that >> huge tree clogged a 60 inch covert. now they're urging residents to avoid driving at night all together during bad weather can weather because it's hard to see a road hazards in the dark. >> well, a warning, a warming shelter now is in vallejo. that's located

and then for the east bay shoreline, we don't really see too many aroblems until you get to about oakland, north, out towards the richmond. sandra fell bridge. that's where we have the bulk of the east bay's outages, which again, right about 7,500 customers without power, the north bay. our final stop. we have the usual suspects. a lot of the hillier terrain. that's where we're seeing those outages, especially in marin county and all men. and you can see wants resolution pick catches up. got a lot of oranges and some yellows, which indicates anywhere from 500 to 5,000 customers without power in these pockets. when will it be restored here and around the entire bay area? it's all dependent on the weather pg. e says they need the winds to calm down which they are expected to do later on today. and especially tomorrow that will be their opportunity to get to get a lot of this restored. hopefully before saturday's round of wet weather could potentially deal another headache for a lot of these folks in around the bay area. but yeah, especially up in the north bay area and in the north bay, the
