breaking news out of san francisco.ou are seeing from our sky ranger a four alarm fire burning at the end of pier 45, the historic pier 45 at the heart of fisherman's wharf in san francisco. we spoke with the public information officer, lieutenant jonathan baxter at san francisco fire a few moments ago. he clarified for us that the fire is not contained. it is still actively burning inside that warehouse but that the fire department has contained the fire to just that warehouse. so at this point, three hours that fire has been burning and the rest of pier 45 does not appear to be at risk. this is video from our viewer from earlier this morning. of course, with dark skies, this is soon after the fire ignited around 4:15 this morning. sf fire said they responded within five minutes and realized the fire spread so quickly they needed to escalate their response to a four alarm response. they also tell us that these are predominantly seafood warehouses, empty at the time of the coronavirus. but there were workers there this

and not in consultation with the executive branch of san francisco or the legislative branch of san francisco and for the other counties. did i get that right? >> well, no -- i mean, we don't -- we don't operate independently, so as the -- the -- by law, every county has a physical health officer. the physician health -- a physician health officer. the physician health officer works at the city, with the exception of the city and county of san francisco. the health officers are appointed by the board of supervisors, so they work very closely together, and they communicate frequently. in my case, because i'm part of the health department, all officers are part of health department. they usually run the public health component of the health departments. our case, we're actually a health agency because we have much -- we have -- our services are way beyond public health. includes public health, substance abuse, and clinical services, so we're a big agency, and public health is just one component of that. i run that component, which is called population health division, and i'm part of the health

. >> the next question is from san francisco chronicle. how many staff members and residents have tested positive for the virus and died at central gardens? >> so at this point we have a total of 72 cases of covid-19 diagnosed in central gardens. we have 37 staff and 39 residents. overall, there have been 160 cases of covid-19 confirmed in the 21 nursing home facilities across the city. i want to emphasize that these facilities are overseen by the state and also emphasize that we are requiring all nursing facilities in the city to test for covid-19, and as i said previously, we have started this work in laguna honda. at laguna honda, we are continuing to have our 21 cases of covid-19 diagnosed, and to date there have been no deaths at laguna honda. >> as a follow-up, you previously said that san francisco does not count a nursing home death or case within the county's number if the resident lives somewhere else. we checked with several other counties. all count those numbers within the county, despite where the nursing home residents has a

cathy wagner from the san francisco international airport. the item before you would approve modification to an existing project management support services contract with t1 partners for the airport's t1 program boarding area b project. the modification increases the contract by $6 million for a new total contract amount of $38 million and extending the contract through july 7, 2023. the original contract was the result of a 2013 competitive request for proposals and was approved by the board for the current $32 million not to exceed amount. t1 partners provides program management services to the terminal milk project including program planning and program costs and schedule controls, cord nation of program management with construction management and other program services. the original contract term was one year with nine one year options to extend. the airport previously exercised six of the nine one-year extension options through july 2020 within the originally approved $32 million contract amount. this proposed modification would increase
