beats get to frank holland with the newest cnbc cfo council survey >> you know, just days before the president tweeted that $200 billion worth of chinese goods could see tariffs raised from 10% to 25%, the cfos in our survey expressed their lowest level of concern over u.s. trade policy since those tariffs on china were put into place last year. they don't see trade policy having any impact at all 15% believing it could benefit their business you could say rising optimism here in the u.s., but this trade deal still seen as a vashlg that has to be accounted for. especially internationally when asked what is the biggest external risk to your business, well, u.s. trade policy was the top answer for cfos in europe, the middle east, and africa. it was tied for a first for asian pacific cfos it was tied also with china as one of the listed top answers here in the u.s. cfos only 10% giving that answer also, last quarter no cfo saw china as an external risk. now 13% of the global groups say they feel that way about the world's second largest economy brian, back to you >> all right frank holl

companies are investing on autonomous vehicles but a major upgrade to keep up with the technology frank hollande columbus, ohio, with how the state is building autonomous upgrades, frank? >> reporter: kelly, you know, experts say our road to the future will be as much computer as they are concrete right now, we're outside of columbus, ohio, right along the smart corridor where you'll find 15,000 miles of fiberoptic strands underneath this 35 mile roadway. it's all part of the drive ohio initiative, a public private partnership that's researching and building the infrastructure of the future. at the end of the corridor is the transportation research center that's the private company that's testing the tech for autonomous vehicles and connected vehicles that can communicate with this smart infrastructure the trc said it cost $1.5 million to build every mile of the 30 mile testing area the state of ohio said $2 million per mile to build a highway. but that doesn't mean the road to our future will be cheaper. experts say that governments will have to invest in hardware like these fiberoptics as well

back over to you >> frank holland frank, thank you citigroup meantime cutting its outlook for apple'sying the trade war will likely cut apple's china sales in half. let's bring in steve milanovich from wolf research steve, do you agree with that assessment what are we talking about? 20% of total sales now from china. >> that's right. about 20% of apple sales are in china. they're already down quite a bit. i think for them to go down half sun likely but it's possible if you get a real anti-american fervor going in china. at this point there aren't tariffs in china on apple products but things aren't heading the right direction and apple's very much caught in the middle because there could be u.s. tariffs on their products and we calculate maybe $100 to $150 per iphone more expensive and apple either has to price up or take that hit at margin at this point we think 10% to 15% of earnings are at risk. but worst case might be closer to 25% or 30%. >> steve, in a recent note you outlined three existential threats to apple, one of which was china turning against them what are the other two
