garvin thomas. >> that's good. we need a reason to smile. and we got one today from our weather. it was not just warm. it was hot in parts of the bay area today, jeff. >> well, my your standards, low 70s, hot, definitely warm out there. really beautiful with all of our shelter-at-home restrictions in place. if we get this blue sky, it definitely makes a difference. i did want to start off with something different tonight though, give you a broad perspective of what i see happenings over the next couple of weeks. this is when we usually see the rainfall averages beginning to pick up. and we have just not seen a lot of rainfall the past couple of weeks. so, let's bring into this overall look here. as i mentioned, it's been very, very dry. this area of high pressure really has been taking these storm systems that develop in the pacific and pushing them off to the north. the result of that is we're now 2.5 to 6 inches behind for the rainfall season with the stubborn area of high pressure. what am i seeing happening? next several days, few shower chances as we head into the weekend. w

here's garvin thomas. >> reporter: the story begins like almost all of them do these days, at home.amely conor hardy at home thinking about what he could and could not do during a pandemic. what conor couldn't do was one of his favorite things in the world, volunteer at san francisco's rescue. what conor could do is stair into his family's backyard which happens to be dominated by a huge mire lelen tree. >> i've been watching all of quarantine drop lemons. >> reporter: over the years conor's family has used what lemons they could, donated some to a friend's restaurant but threw most of the rotten ones out that fell to the ground. it got conor majoring in economic thinks what else could he do with that? so he posted on next door looking for suggestions and the responses flooded in. >> i can't even explain how much feedback and i got for mire lemons. >> reporter: so conor quickly started picking the lemons. >> you go up here and then grab some. >> reporter: it became clear to conor that people were crazy about mire lemons, and there was money to be made. just not for him. >> honestly

garvin thomas is here with tonight's "bay area proud". >> reporter: if there were ever such a thing as a pandemic-induced purchase, josh huggs' drone would fit the bill. he bought it back in march when the first wave of stay-at-home orders swept over the bay area. >> we were just finding things to do with the kids and bought the drone kind of on a lark. >> reporter: it was on a lark as well that last week josh grabbed the drone and headed for the coast. he heard the surf was big. >> i've always been fascinated by gigantic waves. >> reporter: when josh got to pacifica state beach and launched the drone, he wasn't disappointed by the video it was sending back. >> i was looking at my phone, and i was looking at the rocks on the north side. and the waves were blasting over these rocks. it was really pretty to look at. >> reporter: it was when josh looked up, though, something else caught his eye. >> i noticed that there was somebody who looked like they had just gotten owned by a wave, just knocked over. somebody with a dog, and they seemed to be like rolling with the wave. i was like, uh-
