. >> let's get right to meteorologist glenn schwartz. where are the storms right now and severe? >> they continue to be generally north of philadelphia itself, but they are getting a little closer and starting to come a little bit into chester county, the northern portion of chester county and northern half of montgomery and all of bucks county right now. it's moving a little bit west to east, but it's also drifting southward. and in a way that's good. so that will take the heavy rain away from falling on the same spot over and over and over again. so this is not the storm that they were concerned about for the tornado warning for reading, but this is another storm that is right over reading right now. we have parts of our area that haven't seen a drop of rain yet. and reading is getting hit over and over again. not seeing a lot of lightning compared to what we would normally expect with severe weather. this is south of mooullemullenb with some very heavy rains right now. that's not the only area. look at limerick now. and they are just getting pounded with the heavy thunderstorm

. >> let's begin with glenn schwartz. >> we have got some really heavy storms and just going into the jersey shore. and offshore with all the lightning. really should be on the beach or in the water. we also have storms coming in through delaware. these are places that with respect hit yet. the maryland storms are headed into delaware now. denton at 6:30. 6:54 in milford. 7:26 in georgetown. we have some heavy rain over milford and farmington. milton getting heavy rain as well. and in new jersey, cape may as you saw that picture getting pounded, stone harbor, atlantic city getting off light at least a little bit. mays landing still getting some as well. and speaking of heavy rain, we have flash flood warnings across part of the area. severe thunderstorm watch continues in south jersey in delaware. these are flash flood warnings in effect until 7:15. so a lot going on out there. that's why we sent storm ranger 10 out and meteorologist erika martin is live with storm ranger 10. what do you see in there? >> so an exclusive sneak peek into the heart of storm ranger. we have a lot going on

glenn "hurricane" schwartz, big changes are coming. >> we are going to be getting a lot more heat, a lot more humidity and the storms are going to be showing up on radar tomorrow unlike today. we have a first alert out for potential severe storms for the entire area except for the beaches. 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. tomorrow. so it's a narrow time period. most of the day is dry. most of the area is dry. localized wind damage, brief down pours, lightning, possible hail. it's going to feel like it is 95 to 100 by this time tomorrow where it's not raining. you can see it's not raining anywhere in our area right now. western pennsylvania has showers and storms, remnants of that could reach us overnight. there is more back across michigan and around chicago. some of that is what is coming this way for tomorrow. as we go hour by hour we see a few little showers overnight tonight many in the northern suburbs. we are dry to start off the day tomorrow. look at these showers and storms developing during the afternoon just to the west. not everybody is getting hit but when you do get hit it will be

. >> let's get to meteorologist glenn schwartz who is tracking the rain. >> the worst has been in delaware today, but it is expanding. it's expanding into philadelphia. this is where the fill lives were supposed to play tonight. you can see all the heavy rain in new castle county starting to get some of the brighter colors around philadelphia. but this is clearly the heaviest near middletown. and now a flash flood warning has been issued for a portion of new castle county until 7:30. and reminder not to drive through tlooded roads. because the water is very powerful. we also were veeing a big increase in the rainfall in the philadelphia area. here's chester county. back to the west and some of that delaware rain is coming up too. it's going to be a very wet night. there's more coming in from the west. you can also see some of it is moving this way and some this way. it's kind of a complicated pattern. and it is going to continue during the night tonight. here's the futurecast. every couple hours you can see more waves of heavy rain coming through. it's not a solid area of heavy rain. it's

let's go to glenn "hurricane" schwartz with more on what we can expect. wilmington and delaware, that's one of the places. and they have been very vulnerable because it will only take 1 to 2 inches of rain to cause flooding in new castle county. that's one of the areas under our first alert. lehigh valley, mercer counties are out of it. it's not going to be as much and as long. so it's warm and humid. the ocean temperature 77. lots of moisture sitting offshore for any kind of on shore wind. the southerly wind says there's a front right here and right along the front is where the heaviest rain is likely. wherever the front stays and right now that's just where the heaviest rain is. you can see it right there in southern delaware. some of the rain is moving into the rest of the area. the rainfall rate 2 to 3 to 4 inches perhour. it's not moving very fast. so you can get those kind of rain amounts. we already have reports south of 2 inches of rain just in the past hour. so the southern half of delaware certainly the hardest hit.s mov way. there's more back t

glenn "hurricane" schwartz is tracking conditions in your most accurate forecast. >> we are going to be seeing temperature go up a little bit, the humidity go up a little. we are not going to be getting into the dangerous territory this week. it's a beautiful looking sky this in easton a few puffy cumulus clouds and that is it. across the northwest suburbs right outside our station. the puffy cumulus clouds. we have beautiful weather out here. it is warm. it is 88 degrees. then the average high is 87. 88 in northeast philly and wilmington. 89 in allen town. that's the warm spot. very nice 75 degrees. so we have pleasant weather ahead. it is getting hotter. we are close to the 90 degree mark. it's not a long lasting heat wave. it's not an extreme or dangerous heat wave but it could be another one temperatures tonight not going down a whole lot. low temperature around 70 degrees makes it a pretty warm night. humidity is not up there until the next couple of days. we'll see how high that humidity is coming and when storms will be coming back, too, with the forecast in a few minutes. >>>
