governor christie: well, a few things. good question. i appreciate it. >>> thank you. governor christie: what i learned as a prosecutor, and i agree with what you said in there. gun violence is a threat to our safety and security. that.ubt about it's a threat. the question is how do you address it? some may think gun violence is a threat. not many. threat.lence is a here's what i've learned as a prosecutor, is that that threat omes almost all the time, from criminals who get their guns through the black market, who are intent on other crimes to be perpetrated along with the crime of violence that they're perpetrating, and that one of the things that we did during the bush administration was to crack down hard on felons who commit crimes with guns. there are significant laws on the books already, a felon in possession of a weapon, even in possession of a weapon gets a mandatory five-year prison sentence with no parole in the federal system. as you commit other crimes, it stacks on top of it. we need to get these socio paths so we need to start with that. because if you
