bad day in the news for governor who wants to be president number three is about former governor fromther side of the aisle. montana governor brian schweitzer, a democrat who's noisy about the fact he wants to be seen as an alternative to hillary clinton if the democrats are looking for somebody else to run for president. former governor brian schweitzer did a long interview with "the national journal" magazine. the subtitle gives some hint it maybe was going to be some trouble. the headline "the gonzo option." the subtitle "how much can you run for mouth while you're running for president?" the article was posted today. brian schweitzer already apologized to the things he said to the reporter in this article. what he said to the reporter in this article is not the kind of thing that an apology usually makes go away. talking about senator dianne feinstein, criticizing the nsa after having previously supported the nsa very strongly. governor schweitzer is quoted as saying, oh, god, "she was the woman who was standing under the street light with her dress pulled all the way up over her

there's no doubt in my mind that governor -- the governor is involved and there's no doubt in my mind that the governor is involved and right in the center of this thing. >> well, justice of the peace, he went on fox news this morning and said that the case is over. what's your response to that? >> it's not over. it's not over. you pointed out that the decision by federal judge is being appealed and the decision by state judge is being appealed. i have never heard of a judge telling a prosecutor, stop doing your job. so the investigation clearly is not over. and again, i can't stress this enough, the investigation will not be over until a prosecutor says people will be indicted and or people will not be indicted. in the meantime, the investigation is ongoing. >> so what are the democrats planning to do about this? just ride it out, support mary burke and see where this goes? what about impeachment? what about the pulse of the people? what's going to happen here? >> well, we've talked about this before on your show, impeachment isn't possible at all. the legislature is controlled by re

and that afternoon i get a call from the governor. he says i have to make peace between you and the mayor. so my son is the banquet manager at the st. regis hotel, and i'm going to have a little passover holiday at the st.regis hoe -- hotel fir you and the major -- for you and the mayor. so my then-17-year-old son took over the celebration at home, and i went to to the st. regis u hell. there never had been at the st. regis hotel, probably never since. anyway, it was very awkward because i didn't tell anybody about this private deal i had with law. but i said, listen, after going through a sort of peculiar couple of hours in which we avoided talking about anything important, i went back to the hotel waiting for john law's call at 10:00. it never came. 11:00, never came. 12:00, television's on, john law gets on television, he announces the strike. what happened? 12:30, he calls me, apologizes profusely. he says my executive committee, most of them were drunk, and when i said let's make a final offer to ravitch that he won't accept, the

governor christie's less than ideal week did not end there. midst of a massive fiscal crisis, blown a hole of $2 billion in the budget. the democrat controlled new jersey state legislature decided to do something about it. they passed a budget that fully funds state employee pensions and does so through a modest tax increase on corporations for one year and by raising taxes on new jersey millionaires for three years. this is how governor christie reacted to the solution to a fix a budget problem that is very much his own. >> all they want to do is increase taxes. then they play the game yesterday, this increase income tax will only last for three years. it will expire after three years. the business tax, that will expire after one year. like, seriously, right. did anybody believe that. once they get their hands on your money, they are ever going to willingly give it back, never, it doesn't happen. >> never, i mean never, it doesn't happen, except it did happen in new jersey. in 2009 the state temporarily asked families making over $400,000 a y

governor walker is in full-spin mode. >> obviously governor walker and the reason why this is such a nationwide story is not just because of the drama around the recall elections there and his aggressive tactics against unions, among other things, but also because he's been talked about as a big 2016 contender, a sort of top-tier contender there. is he going to be able to even get re-elected in wisconsin given this news? the latest polls have him tied there with his democratic opponent, mary burke. >> well, i'll tell you, it's twofold. first, i'd say, you know, when you have a media day where the better news would have been the other story out of wisconsin, which is that new job numbers say wisconsin is dead last in the midwest, when that would be a better story for you, you're having a bad media day. second, we always assume that the reason the right-wing organizations and scout walker during the recalls had $80 million to spend was simply because there was a lot of interest in walker becoming a national figure. well, turns out the reason they were able to do that is because they ar
