>> reporter: gregg, it very much seems what started as a protest in egypt h an armed insurgency. of we want to get back to the video of the mosque you were talking about, it's right next to a police station the muslim brotherhood tried to storm yesterday. there were a lot of people hurt in it, and that's when everybody ran into the mosque and tried to take refuge from the police who wanted to come in and arrest people. earlier today the muslim brotherhood gunmen were using the minarets of the mosque to fire out at the crowds. and, believe it or not, when the security forces came in finally, they were cheered by everybody outside. and we're seeing this division inside of egypt. there are now armed neighborhood watch group that's are coming down on the side of the army to try and go after the muslim brotherhood. the army, for its part, continues to be defiant. there is all but martial law right now. tanks, armored personnel carriers on the street. and now they are thinking of outlawing the muslim brotherhood, part of that massive roundups including this person, mohammed al zawahiri
