some, even less than that will do beyond high school. so the big picture, i think, for ohio is that we are, in fact, creating more jobs every day than we have people to fill them, and so really there's only one answer. and that is to make sure that every ohioan lives up to their full god-given potential so that we don't have young people coming out of high school who are not on some pathway. so we have really ramped up our career tech in ohio, putting a lot more money and resources into career tech. the interesting thing, as i travel around the state this summer, my wife, fran, and i spent a lot of time traveling around ohio. so did the lieutenant governor, john husted. and just, you know, talking to young people who are in career tech and just high school students and just seeing how excited they are and the good jobs that they can, in fact, get. but we also -- to deal with this in the long run, we have to start early. so prenatal care, early childhood development, you know, all of these things, we're putting a lot more focus on so that

rasmus joins us live from that high school with details alley. the school day well underway here at northgate high school in walnut creek, but students we talked to this morning say there's still stunned by what happened here yesterday. 1/9 grade boy is accused of stabbing one of his classmates and ninth grade girl on the campus in the middle of the afternoon in the middle of the school day, according to witnesses. several teachers in the schools vice principal tackled the boy after the stabbing and detained him until police could arrive. the high school sports medicine teacher was called over to help render aid to the injured girl and the superintendent of the district, says he got word last night that she had successful surgery and is resting in the hospital. the school district is going to have extra counselors on hand and psychologists this morning, as well as therapy dogs to help students process what happened, but some of the students we talked to say the student accused of this violent attack needed intervention before thisn contact with co

we had a police officers and at the high schools to interact with shooters. en in the elementary school we standardize security. with it is such a dangerous situation. i had to respond to not to shootings in the school. i had to respond to shootings in the neighborhood. over 100 children were murdered in their foot 10 and my school were murdered in the communities. we host do crisis intervention team to counsel the kids in faculty. i would go out and have conversation with parents themselves. i helped raise money to pay for almost 40 funerals during the. of time. we had a crisis intervention fund that would be dispatched to provide k-pop -- financial support for victims of violence. that is not only took it in chicago, but philadelphia and bridgeport. brandon: i hope it is obvious the goal is to prevent these horrific treasures from taking place in the first place. that is why i'm committed, as apparent, who sends the children to the chicago public schools -- schools. this is in the political space we are operating under. what we think about as teachers, as pa

you have to bring your kid to high school. 10th grade and up they have their cars, but there is no moneyor athletics. you get the basics. let's say you start a softball team. the schools have to pay for everything. they still rent a football field because they do not have the money to buy a stadium. the first two years we started this charter school, we took every student in our county that got kicked out of their high schools just because you say " school choice" does not mean your kid will get into that charter school. it depends on the board of directors and what they want. if they want that public money for the first 2 or 3 years, now there is a lottery system for this high school. they pick and choose. host: let's get a response. guest: david, if you are in education, try to make your question a little bit sharper, but you are right, there is a difference. not every student can get into every school. i i'm tired of hearing that every child has a right to but not producing it -- to a quality education but not producing it. we talk about this in the city. we do not talk about the rura
