ryan nobles up on capitol hill. let's stay up on capitol hill, get more reaction to this latest sex harassment scandal that's rocking the u.s. senate and the house of representatives. our senior congressional correspondent is on the scene for us. there are now what, bipartisan calls for a full scale senate ethics investigation for senator franken. >> reporter: and the question is where does go after that, wolf? the most extreme case could be expelling al franken from the senate, if the ethics committee does recommend trying to kick him out of the seat. now that is a very, very rare occurrence, but one in which a number of senators would not rule out. even democratic senators when i put that question to them today, they said, let's let the process play out. even if it leads to his expulsion, we have to have this investigation first. here's what they said. >> very disappointed. i support and ethics investigation this kind of conduct should not be tolerated by anyone in any public official. >> do you think this could l

a lot of this is about the power dynamic of capitol hill.ery young staffers working directly for very powerful men. that was something that i heard repeatedly. that it's a very insular place. so if you move on or complain and then you become labeled a complainer, you're less likely to get another job working for someone else on capitol hill, or even in politics in washington. you know, one of the things that we heard, mj and i and many of us, that there is sort of like an informal list of people to stay away from. and this is not something we just heard from women, it's something we heard from men, too, on the hill. they know who the so-called creeps are and not only do the women stay away from them but also the men try to keep women protected from them. i mean, think about that for a second. the fact that everybody sort of knows who these people are, that the same names kept coming up over and over and over again yet you really don't see people stepping forward saying that they want to do something about this publicly, brooke. >> this hallo

now to capitol hill and garrett haake tracking the reaction there on senate hill. i want to get to senator franken, but first to roy moore. the majority leader mitch mcconnell is saying there will be an investigation, if moore gets elected next month. what are you hearing there? >> reporter: well, stephanie, no kidding. the senate ethics committee only has six members and could be potentially investigating three sitting senators at the same time. all franken, bob me mendez and roy moore, should he win, could all face ethics probes before the secretive committee that doesn't announce when or where they meet. so there's a lot that could be going on behind closed doors here on capitol hill to decide the fate of all of these senators. but that, of course, depends on roy moore being able to win in alabama to get here. and watching how this has played out politically, it's become pretty clear that roy moore is not really running against doug jones anymore. he's running against mitch mcconnell and fired verbal shots at the majority leader yesterday. take a listen. >> this

my name is jobie hill and we're at green hill plantation which is in campbell county, virginia, and i'm here with the company trimble and they are here with me for my independent project which is called "saving slave houses." which is doing documentation of all of the known slave houses in the united states. when i was in school for my master's thesis, i started doing research with the historic american building survey collection, which is a wpa program that started in 1936 to get architects back to work. and so 1,000 architects were hired to go out and document significant historic structures all across the united states. and part of that documentation was slave houses. not necessarily intentionally, but they did document slave houses and sometimes, a lot of times it was just -- you got like one photograph or you would see that a slave house in the background of a picture behind the main house. for my master's thesis, i looked at that collection and identified all of the sites that had a slave house in them. so, like, the historical american billing survey has 485 sites that have a doc
