holly williams is in istanbul with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. secretary of state mike pompeo arrives in saudi arabia today looking for answers in the mysterious disappearance of saudi journalist jamal khashoggi two weeks ago. sources tell cbs news that saudi arabian authorities may be preparing to admit that khashoggi died as a result of an interrogation gone wrong. the u.s. resident and outspoken critic of the saudi government walked into the saudi consulate here in istanbul, turkey, on october 2nd, but hasn't been seen since. he apparently needed paperwork to marry his turkish fiancee. yesterday turkish investigators were finally allowed to search the saudi consulate and apparently spent eight hours inside the building. turkish officials speaking anonymously had already told journalists they belelieve khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate allegedly by a 15-man saudi theme arrived that day and left in the evening. officials have denied all involvement, insisting khashoggi left the consulate and calling the allegations lies and baseless. t
