i workdayly with homeless individuals, homeless families. the challenges on my job are mainly around resources and my salary and other available necessities that i can provide to other families that i work with. overall i believe that 3% increase is very important due to the fact cola -- the fast increasing cola here in the bay area. what that means is gas prices are going up. food is more expensive. rent prices are more expensive. and overall it's difficult for agencies to stay afloat because of that. i believe that the supervisorses should support the city in this because if we don't, then like the 1980s we'll see a lot of tents and things like that across the street here. i know you guys all remember that back in the '80s. i believe it is possible for this to happen, but overall the long-term results is what is very important to us. what we want to increase is family stability and longevity of people living here in san francisco. for myself, i've been in this line of work for 14 years so i feel that my salary and resources should reflect

i'm homeless. take a look at me and see what homeless looks like. i have been homeless for six months in san francisco. i know what it's like to sleep on the streets and go to the sleep kitchen and i know what it means to stand hours in life waiting to get a bed and get into a drop in only to not get a bed. i know what that's like. in two more weeks i'm going to lose my bed because there's no housing to put people in. you're looking at a guy that has no chemical dependency issues, a guy that has a college degree and i'm going through this. i want you to take a good look at what's going on in the community. i have never in my life seen the level of homelessness that i've seen up here. it is absolutely ridiculous that there have shelters up here and that people are actually up here trying but they can't get ahead. they can't get ahead. there needs to be more financing, so i'm here to tell the board of supervisors to investigate in solutions to homelessness, at least $11 million more to all preventible displacements and tenants have a right to council

it's might belief it's not a coincidence that my years of homelessness came to an end at bayview gardens i say this because this is known as the is it fair to say hotel. if i may speak frankly the san franciscan hotel was a breeding ground for violence a broke ground use place and prostitution and other forms of illegal activities that placard the boufd for years if i may be more can id did i was part of that activity. god don't make michaels we brought me full circle back to this location (clapping) more will be revealed the stability it was given as a result of the permanent hours has allowed me to complete a milestone i took for years on may 23rd on 2014 not only did i graduate city college with high howsoever or honors i had the highest honors in the largest graduating class in san francisco history (clapping) as i continue to grow because of the foundation i have here at bayview gardens in august i will be transitioning to sfufrt as a junior in social work (clapping) thousands upon thousand dollars of individuals try to get into our social workshop and only 25 are selected i'm happy
