he went to howard university one of the premier you colleges in the country he he doesn't like to say black colleges but one of the premier colleges in the country he left that to become a pastor of a small church in georgia. he left that to move to new to to do ministry work for an organization that he'd moved to georgia in 1962 working model with the king jr he left that at the mouth of the king's assassination to run for congress where he was in the first class of black congress. congressmen and women from the south since reconstruction. and he left that to become a un ambassador. he left that to become the mayor of atlanta. he left that while he was the mayor of atlanta. he brought the olympic to the united states or brought the olympics atlanta, which is something that no could have ever foreseen. and now he runs a foundation. so he has these many lives and it looks, you know, the thing that's interesting about him is that it's as if, you know, every decade he of reinvents himself and he looks back. but he doesn't really look back if. you pick out, you know, if you pick a part of

. >> and daniel, as the dean of howard university law school, i'm just wondering your thoughts on thisgala poll out this shows a 58% of americans disapprove of the job of the supreme court. i know we're putting a lot of justice jackson's shoulders, but do you think her presence on the court will do anything to improve the supreme court's reputation? >> well, i have to say that was a mix emotion of the day for me, is that for the first time we see for women on the court at a time when we see a significant rollback of women's rights in this country, and also this term we will see them looking at everything from voting rights to affirmative action, to public accommodations, issues for lgbtq i a community. so it is really ironic, to see the most diverse court in supreme court history, which will also become known, i think, as a court that will significantly rollback the individual rights of many americans. so in some ways it was bittersweet, i think, because we don't want to use representation to really lend legitimacy to a court that is doing significant harm to the rights of many america

congressional black caucus -- caucus, african-american federal executive association and local hbcus as howard university to be able to be intentional about how black people can have agency to not only be attracted to jobs but is sent. i think that is one of the biggest things that is important. we say we need more black staffers, we need more diversity. we go to go straight to hbcus. sometimes the black talent and community colleges rpd realize how black programs under communities get lost in the fog. we are making sure to garrett -- grow relationships there. if anybody ever tells me they are struggling to find diversity. it is because you cannot find them. it is probably the ones you're not looking or not looking in the right places. when i decreed reasons we made our mission is we need the people where they are. we talked about the interim office. we believe it is -- nine >> this is not a criticism of the senate. help make me into the middle manager i am.
