ilana gold is live with the details. ilana. >> reporter: the victim is now getting stitches at the hospital. he's 27 years old and he was slashed in the face. this happened right across the street from central park. we want to show you video from the scene. police are down there investigating on the platform. this happened by the number two train around 5:00 this morning. arguing with a woman and that's when she asked a man for help. seconds later that man apparently went up to that 27-year-old, slashed him in the face and took off. now, this is the fourth time that someone has been slashed in new york city since last week. on tuesday a 29-year-old woman was slashed in the face on the subway. she took a picture of the suspect who then turned himself in. he allegedly told her i will chop you up on this train because she bumped into him. again, now police are investigating another slashing that happened early this morning down by the subway platform near the number 2 train. this is right across the street from central park

live in the bronx this morning ilana gold cbs 2 news. >>> thank you. mexico's president says mission accomplished now that el chappo is captured after spending six months on the run. handcuffed el chappo was led to a military helicopter last night. he was taken back to the same maximum security prison he escaped from. dick brennan has more. >> he looked dazed and confused face justice. mexican marines captured him in a predawn raid in mexico. authorities found him hiding out in his house. his men appeared ready for war and had many weapons including a rocket propelled grenade launcher. five of his men were killed in a gun battle and he may have tried to escape through a sewer. he's been on the run since his escape from prison back in july. it was a humiliation for the mexican government. years. embarrassment on his second escape and so much pressure for the mexico and the u.s. to be able to apprehend him. >> al chappo is only 5-foot 6 but he's one of the most violent drug lords in the world believed to be responsible for 34,000 deaths and controlling f

live on long beach ilana gold cbs 2 news. >> thanks so much. in new jersey people bracing for heavy flooding there. >> voluntary evacuation notices were issued in a number of communities. let's take a live look at cbs 2's meg balker who is there this--baker who is there this morning. looks brutal. >> it is and it's powered by the winds bringing these waters up onto the street here on riverside drive. over to our left there is a plow going down first avenue but most of the cars have been removed. we just talked to the fire chief who said most people were so they wouldn't get wrecked by the floodwaters. the fire department chief was also on the beach which is further this way and the three foot berm that is in place will hopefully protect the beach front homes but there is massive beach erosion expecting 12-foot waves in the area. we are seeing pretty big waves come over here. high tide around 7:00 a.m. this morning expected again around 7:00 p.m. and the issue here is there's a lunar high tide and with that these flood waters that now are coming
