kids in the twin cities aren't wasting any time enjoying it. it is expected to dump snow from iowa up to wisconsin. let's get more on that. we head to meteorologist bill karins with a good frosty morning if you're in the middle of the country. >> these beginning of the season snow storms, usually a heavy, wet snow. if you get too much, it brings down tree branches and then you get power outages. that's what we have reported in southern minnesota and northern iowa. ten inches of snow near mankato. the snow is so heavy, it is bringing down some of the limbs. minneapolis reports around 4 to 5 inches especially on the south side of town. it is still snowing hard there. it will continue for the next couple of hours. notice the green on this map. that's the radar showing you the rain. the white is where it's all snow. so in areas like st. cloud that haven't had a lot, some of that is starting to increase in your area. but the bull's-eye by far is from minneapolis to st. cloud to duluth. duluth will get it good over the next hours. the snow will really begin to stick. winter snow warnings

becoming real it sounds like you know now we hear that her scouts are out looking for office space in iowa as a do you think that it could actually have a do you think that americans would elect sarah palin as president. it depends who you ask in the last poll i saw suggests no nobody would elect sarah pail i mean what we what we can be sure of is that if sarah palin is the next president the tea party slogans and talking points will literally have battered the country into submission and in many cases against people's actual best interest i mean as i'm sure you know from from some of the people you've interviewed on your show many times conservatives will be in favor of a candidate just because liberals are against them and if that were to happen and sarah palin by the time she takes office hopefully some of those people will realize hey i actually voted for this person against my own best interest and that is probably the scariest part of it all what do you think it is about her i mean she seems like a very divisive figure a writer is one of those people that you either love or you hate

she's going to have to get better with the infrastructure piece of this and you can't dodge reporters in iowand new hampshire, you just can't do that. but to a certain extent, she's out in front in a lot of different ways. the new media stuff reminds me a lot of governor dean, whose birthday it is today, happy birthday governor, tapping into this early, but that didn't france form into an organization the way -- if she can tap into this new media and bring this to bear in an organizational way she becomes more formidable in the republican primary. >> i'm fascinated by her, she's a fascinating figure, and whether people like her or not, thins are very divided, you can -- i think as cornell said, you underestimate her at your peril. have you ever seen a candidate or a potential candidate who makes their critics' heads explode in the way sarah palin does? it does seem those who oppose her, they seem to go nuts about it. >> it's hilarious. >> because the more they criticize her, the more successful she becomes, among those who support her, and that just makes the critics go nuts even more. >> loo
