today in iowa saturday will be right back in just a few welcome back to today in iowa saturday. we're back to meredith's test kitchen across the street. i'm joined now by connie weeden, one of the editors from better homes and garden. we're talking beans today this month. these are some of the beans we are featuring in our issue. our recipe, we are using canned beans for those people who are a little intimidated by the dry beans. you can chill them. we have a couple different recipes. you can make a salad. we've caramelized the garbanzo beans with some olive oil and salt, and it's got turkey, apple, very healthy salad. these are gigantic beans. they're going to soak up the flavor, some cherry tomatoes. you can sprinkle on some toasted almonds. parsley and garlic and olive oil to top it off. this also has some saffron and smoked paprika. this is in our october issue. it's on newstands now. skies are cloudy this morning over central iowa. temperatures cool in the 50s and winds are breezy from the northwest. through the day, skies will clear and temperatures will reach the low 60s
