this is long before anyone starts voting in iowa or new hampshire and if they can reach a decision to find a candidate with lots of support, endorsements, money and all the things they need to prevail in the primary generally backhanded it goes on to become the nominee. that doesn't always happen but that's a pretty secure system of the last few decades of the presidential nomination but part of that process i would say is the party learning from what happened last time. you have to have, there has to be some sort of discussion on access to party leaders after they lost to come up with an evaluation of what they are supposed to do next. one way to think about this is that the party is trying to balance two main goals. one of them is they want candidates who are good on policy. that is, they seem likely to deliver a lot of issues that the party cares about. they will make guns easier or hearty harder to get. they will raise taxes, lower taxes, whatever the party supports. on the other hand they also want that person to get elected. they want that person to be able to win. and if you ge
