after hours and hours of driving winds, rains, slow moving irene finally left the state. it was clear that the storm surge went up the chesapeake, it was clear that the eye of irene, ocean city escaped with smaller amounts of flood surge, but elsewhere in the state, widespread tree damage and outages, reaching huge proportions, and 850,000 marylanders were without power. and many of us, in the heart of baltimore county would be in the dark more than a week as electrical crews tried to get the upper hand on maryland's power grid. days later, tropical punch number two, a storm named lee, gunning for the free state. weeks later after the rain from irene, lee delivers yet another 12 inches of water on top of the already wet ground, triggering massive flooding, much of it captured by viewers here. and on the roads where many drivers decided to push their luck, turning their cars into speed boats or should i say submarines. but one major flood didn't leave quickly as the two feet of rain from two different storms ended up here, in a ranging susquehanna. in a number of days, the
