jacob glick joins me now. jacob, great to have you with us this evening. i think a lot of people would want to know what role does donald trump play as something of a messianic figure among these militia groups? do they simply follow him and how much the fall fall on hang on every word he says? >> i think donald trump was an inspiration in an opportunity for these extremist groups like the proud boys and oath keepers for people like stewart rhodes, and we go to aerial, they really thought trump had a moment an opportunity for them to exploit his rhetoric and exploit his willingness to flirt with political violence, to bring themselves into the public square and to see themselves, style themselves as this kind of paramilitary guard they would pose their own vision of law and order on to the country. we saw that occur as early as, earlier in 2020 when stewart rhodes testified to the select committee that he wanted to trump to invoke the insurrection act over the summer for the oath keepers to go out into the streets during the protests and detain protesters.
