joining me is alivitali, jake sherman. jake, i want to start with you and the nomination process. are these picks likely to get through if it is a republican-led senate? are they likely to get through a senate led by mitch mcconnell? >> well, katy, i think the answer to that is yes. i don't feel 100% confident about that, but republicans have kind of said over the last several weeks that a president is entitled to his own cabinet. i got a couple messages this morning from republicans who said, even we can't really complain about these. i mean, i would say this, even though republicans are obviously not supportive of joe biden, they are supportive of a world in which predictability reigns, in which if a deal is cut between two entities, there doesn't have to be some sort of guessing game oz to whether the white house will uphold it. that is the kind of behavior republicans on capitol hill are going to be really interested in seeing return. but, listen, the process is going to tb arduous. you'll have questions. for example, tony blinken has been running a consultancy for the last co
