the scene of a massive blaze that was reported round 2:30 this afternoon. control. s get to jennifer crompton latest. jennifer: we are here at this bedford. there are still 30 fire apparatus on the scene. the road is closed to the public. pouring from the top, but that is much different than it was a few hours ago. the home was fully engulfed with about 60 firefighters from a dozen departments coming to help. the fire chief says everyone got out safely but there was someone home at the time because it was an occupant that called reporting smoke in the house. the chief says the fire appears to have started in the attic area and may have been burning for some time before it was noticed. >> upon arrival there was a light smoke condition. there was a vaulted ceiling. we opened up the roof and the fire just came in. the family is understandably distraught, the property likely nearly a total loss. they expect to be on the scene coming up at 6:00, how the access to water played a role in fighting the fire. live in bedford, jennifer crompton, wmur news 9. jean: manchester police are searching for a s

live in the newsroom jennifer , crompton, wmur news 9. stephanie: a much calmer day today in keene after a gas and vermont busy throught the day saturday and into the early morning hours. wmur' s suzanne roantree has the latest on the emergency that affected more than 1200 liberty utility customers. suzanne: just after 9:00 saturday morning, liberty utilities says that there was a malfunction at the gas plant where propane and air are mixed. as a result, pure propane was sent to 1,250 customers in keene which can release deadly amounts of carbon monoxide when burned. more than 60 fire departments from new hampshire and vermont responded to the emergency checking homes and shutting off the gas to any house with a high c.o. level. crews responded to more than 100 calls for a gas odor or symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure. at least five people were treated for carbon monoxide symptoms. the gas emergency was ended at 2:00 this morning. a spokesman for liberty utility emergency and fully expect the governor to call for investigation. live in

wmur' s jennifer crompton joins us live with her view of this storm from rochester. good afternoon, jennifer. jennifer: good afternoon, sean. rochester has about three or four inches of snow. it is mixed with this fine sleet that is coming down right now. in portsmouth they did have the rain that was mentioned a few moments ago. the driving has been really messy. behind me is the spaulding turnpike. our experience was that drivers are taking their time, taking it slow. nonetheless, there have been lots of slipping and sliding accidents, not just here, but on roads throughout the seacoast. in internment, 4 part -- in durh cars off the road. am, 4 another into a telephone pole. is taxing shovelers and snowblowers alike. we heard one call in another town close to the coast for a man who had collapsed in his driveway. emergency responders are understandably busy. rochester fire reported their first call at 3:00 a.m. many more once the commute started. rochester fire was telling us that those calls that came in were piled upon each other, mixed with the calls they generall
