i don't know what to say it's utter ridiculousness. don't take my word for it read the bill. there is nothing in the bill that indicates spending about any other issue but veterans health and funding and if there was, i would not have supported it. this is all about the language in the pact act is incredibly specific that all of the funding must be spent, even the toxic exposure fund, the language is explicit about what you can spend it for. so i don't understand you have got some republican senators saying well if you will switch to mandatory to discretionary then i will do it because they snuck it in as mandatory it's always been mandatory. the bill that passed the senate on june 16th, 84-14. not one word has been added to this bill that all these republicans suddenly voted against it. not one word. and when they passed it the first time the spending was mandatory and it's all about veterans healthcare. so i don't even understand what i want to say. what bucket did you spend the war. was that discretionary. mandatory. whatever bucket you used for the $6 trillion that prosecuted these wars and 60 billion to $70 billion a year that you spent as a slush fund called the oco, with no guardrails and no oversight, whatever bucket you spent out of those, that's what you would spend for veterans healthcare because i'm going to tell you this: this is the total cost of war. and you can't go out there and thune and toomey and all the other senators who voted for those trillions and trillions of dollars to send these men and women to war now suddenly say it's not fiscally responsible to spend the money to pay for the consequences of their service is outrageous and abdication of their responsibility. >> bret: you are pushing hard. i'm told it's going to come back up on monday. >> they are going to revote it. >> bret: may have a fix for it we will see. we will follow it. >> i really appreciate it. and we have got to get this done, man. lives depend on it. >> bret: jon stewart, thanks. >> thanks so much. >> bret: up next, a live report from kentucky where devastating flooding has resulted in the counties there. we will take you there live. feel the rush of performance at the lexus golden opportunity sales event. thanks for coming. feel now when it comesrmance to a financial plan this broker is your man. let's open your binders to page 188... uh carl, are there different planning options in here?
