that can be done and sort of is being done both in congress and the supreme court is more what john kasich was getting at for instance. you're already seeing efforts on the democratic side to sort of preemptively delegitimize any majority decision, especially a 5-4 decision that includes brett kavanaugh. there's already discussion of impeachment proceedings or efforts to pack the court and add another two justices. michael avenatti has tried to make that sort of a litmus test for any presidential candidate. so the policy implications should not be overlooked. they are dramatic and we will feel them for years to come, but i think as governor kasich was discussing, this is a point that really shouldn't be lost. the institutional norms that have really been eroded throughout this whole process. >> that's why we were watching some of these crucial senators when it comes to those vote. especial especially senator collins. she's been vocal about it. this is what she had to say about dr. ford. let's listen. >> i do not believe that brett kavanaugh was her assailant. i do believe that she was assa

i heard john kasich over the weekend say it's a pox on both houses. who is going to be -- where is it? is it just for everyone to wait and see, buckle up, and i'll see you at the polls? because republicans say they're just as energize as democrats now? >> we'll have to see. at the beginning of the kavanaugh process, particularly when christine blasey ford came out with her allegations, you did feel the republican party, some fear about how this was going and how this would affect the midterms. further energizing particularly democratic and independent women. and there was a tide turn, as this continued to roll out where republicans started to really resent and get energized based on how brett kavanaugh was being written about in terms of some of the allegations from high school, about his drinking and what not. so, and you heard democrats at the end of the debate saying privately, let's just get this over with because they saw the gop base was uniting behind this nominee and behind the party. now, how long the anger lasts, whether it lasts four weeks,
