african—american voters in the us, if they are going to get out in enough numbers to supportjoe biden, jude biden's response to all of this so far? that is going to be the big question right now. as ren pointed out, joe biden has been a bit uneven on some of his comments about race, including in recent weeks, but he came out with a very strong statement in philadelphia, where he had a very well formulated —— he had very well formulated discussion points, finding his voice on this issue in a way we hadn't heard before, speaking very directly to a lot of the concerns we are seeing expressed across the united states but again, it was framed around empathy, unity and calmness and really trying to underscore those factors that made him an appealing candidate to many in the primaries and he hopes will make him an appealing candidate to many during the general elections as well. the big question as to what extent he can translate that into real policy proposals that will resonate enough with democrats and certain demographics of democratic voters to get them out to the polls in november. julie ann
