race and social justice reporter julian glover followed one family to see how this money changed their from chocolate to sugar cookies, daisychained loves making sweet treats at this bakery in the mission. the early days and long hours standing can be tiring but it is all in support of her family. we first met daisy in november of 2021 when she and her family of four called this tenderloin apartment home. before the pandemic another couple lived in the three-bedroom apartment and paid half the rent. that couple moved out during the pandemic leaving her and her family with the entire bill. when they moved out it was daisy, her husband and her two boys. a three-year-old and 13-year-old. daisy primarily speaks spanish and indigenous language native to mexico. she only speak some english so she spoke to us in spanish as she put her dinner for her boys. it is expensive to live here she said. she is paying more than $3000 in rent. it is tough buying angst for the kids because she has to save for rent. saving got easier and financial burdens less stressful. a month before we met her and her f
