to give you some idea where that is, we're about 2 miles actually west of the kaiser permanente hospital. so we're west of highway 101 from the hospital, one of the two hospitals in santa rosa that had to be evacuated. a neighbor here tells me that this burned out area that you see behind me, home after home after home, it's about 1 1/2 miles by a 1/2 mile. every single house is gone. the cars and trucks left lining the street, they're burned out shells, melted tires, yet right in front of us the owner's car is sitting right there untouched. it doesn't make much sense, but this entire neighborhood essentially has been wiped out except for one homeowner who apparently stayed behind. firefighters gave him a fire hose. he fought the fire and saved the homes on the outside perimeter of this neighborhood,
