karen rogers is in for david murphy with a check of the accuweather forecast. >> reporter: hi, rick, i was in this morning, it was a cold start to the day, but we're improving out here and the sky conditions are pretty. we started this morning in the northwest suburbs in the low teens, we rebounded nicely. 34 in martins creek, 33 in quakertown and pilots. 40 -- pottstown 40 in coatsville. 33 in center city. delaware and new jersey, 367 in browns mill, 47 in glassboro, 40 in vineland and dover, delaware. we've been watching the showers to the south. almost looks like we had a speck of a sprinkle near dover, but it's evaporating there. you can see that the clouds have streamed into the southern part of the region. philadelphia is next. we'll get the clouds increase through the day today. today we stay dry, but we're watching the system that's bringing in the moisture from the west that's going to imangt imangt -- impact us in a big way come tomorrow. we'll see increasing clouds, but temperatures are seasonable. we're looking at a a couple of degrees above average. it will feel nice aft

. >> gina gannon is in for karen rogers, david is outside in the weather. >> reporter: let's show you storm tracker 6 live, not a lot of active roads, a couple of light sprinkles east of philadelphia, but obviously on satellite and radar the wide view you see the heavier rain down south that will be moving in the afternoon. 44 degrees in philadelphia. 44 in allentown. this is about as warm as it will get today. the numbers will fall a little bit because of the strong blustery wind out of the northeast. these are current wind gusts, how about the airport in atlantic city, 45-mile an hour. 47 in millville. that's the highest number on the maps so far this morning. a wind gust over 30 miles per hour in philadelphia. in fact a wind advisory is in effect across the region until 4:00 where gusts could reach 40 or so in the i-95 corridor. over by the shore gusts could go 50 to 60 miles per hour, again, the worst of this up until 4:00. we have a coastal flood situation it's a minor flood situation this morning, but this afternoon at high tide there could moderate flooding. we have upgraded to

karen rogers what are the roads looking like? we've been warning people be careful on the ramps, girard avenue westbound to the schuylkill expressway we saw a number of emergency workers on the scene. watch tore that partially blocking the ranches to the schuylkill expressway westbound. the ramps and overpasses elevated can freeze up easier than the main highways. nonetheless we had an accident on i-95 shutting it down at academy. it's slowing in the area, 45 miles per hour. we had an accident on the betsy ross bridge and i-95. even though it hardly looks snowy out there, we nonetheless have accidents on the highway. oregon avenue, snyder avenue, the snow has shut off. we have snow on the roads especially the secondary roads, as you make turns be careful because they are slick. because of the concerns for the bridges and the overpasses they have reduced speeds on all the area bridges to 35 miles per hour. the new jersey turnpike speed limit of 45 miles per hour. >> let's switch over to katherine scott along the boulevard in north

. >> let's go over to karen rogers.t's a very busy past city lots of tight streets and you've got the latest on how to get around that. >> that's right. we have been tweeting and retweeting with the #6abc traffic with what you can expect. market street is blocked between third and front streets. so this is a big closure in old city. you've got to use race or arch, you can use chestnut or walnut. this is also causing bus detours, five, nine, 17, 21, 33, 48, all of those septa buses are being detoured around the area because of this big closure of market street shut down now between third and the front street our breaking news because of this highrise fire so watch for that. let's jump into the suburbs now and talk about other problems. another fire location, this one in plymouth meeting germantown pike between atrium way and walton road. watch for this fire. crews are on the scene. we're hearing they're getting ready to leave so hopefully they'll be able to wrap this up. in the meantime you've got to deal with that fire

let's go to dave murphy and karen rogers.d morning. >> this is really the day we have been waiting for everybody. we are off to a start that features a little bit of clouds in some neighborhoods. you can see how the drying is starting to punch holes across south jersey and parts of southeastern pennsylvania, all clear skies down the pike toward baltimore and washington and pretty quickly this morning we should transition to mostly sunny skies. chilly on the bus stop this morning. 42 degrees in philadelphia, just 40 in allentown. still upper 30's in trenton. 44 in wilmington. 41 in millville and 41 in cape may. a little bit of a breeze coming in from the west. not as strong as the last couple of days. now actually down to 7 miles per hour in philadelphia. but low to mid double digits across most of the region. still 22 miles per hour in lancaster. so, cool enough and just slightly breezy enough for that heavier coat this morning. 38 degrees by 7 o'clock. still on the cold side there. but by noon we improve to 48. and we're loo

he's got accuweather and karen rogers has a look at your traffic.d morning. >> off to a somewhat cloudy start and some of you might run into some patchy fog early this morning. you can see there are some breaks to the clouds to the west and we're going to be dry dan it does look like we will return at least some sunshine into play as we go through the morning and afternoon. 44 degrees currently in philadelphia. 44 in wilmington. similar to yesterday. 42 degrees in allentown and reading though and that's a little bit milder than yesterday. 44 in millville. notice how the winds right now are coming out of the southwesterly direction and that's going to bring some milder air in at least initially today. prepare for a little bit of a breeze. 13 miles per hour in philadelphia and those winds will pick up later on. so here's where numbers are going today and this is any other a typical progression of temperatures much by 7 o'clock we're at 43. by noon we zoom up to 54. that's going to your high today fairly early in the day. by 3 o'clock we're back to 50.

toward the end of the week colder air returns and karen rogers we might see snow showers.l have more on that coming up. >> all right. we'll be slipping and slide willing we drive then perhaps but not now. looking live on the vine street expressway we can see a little bit of fog in this shot. we have reduced visibility with low clouds. not a lot of rain. it's feeling a little damp out there currently but looking pretty good on the vine no construction there. on the big picture no major issues. blue route, schuylkill or i-95 but we do have a new accident coming in to us, it's right on the northeast extension as you head northbound between mid-county and lansdale. we're hearing someone kind of ran into a barrier wall there. so, crews are out there blocking the right lane and watch for that new accident on the northeast extension northbound. also an accident here in towamencin. this one is blocking all lanes. orvilla road shut down at weikel road. it happened a few hours ago but still causing a problem. stick forty foot road to get around this problem. one more accident, kind
