vianey and kari, the storm ranger with that red sweep. i have it as well. we share the data and then it translates to this, the blue, the puddling, the standing water on 280 south of 92. it swept through the area and we'll watch it develop in hayward and over to the tri-valley. right now in exchange for the crashes, north over there around third has cleared and a new crash now just a little further north. i talked about this crash. solo crashes in the center divide or the guardrail. it sounds like oftentimes cars will lose traction. a little flooding reported as well. so, again, showing you what the conditions are like. over here as far as the speed sensors go. i removed the index so it's easy to see what's going on. possibly blocking your slow lane. the travel times look great. allow more space to ease on to the bridge. we don't want the spinouts. be very careful, folks. >>> thank you very much. >> we have team coverage on the rain and its effects. that rain has many people worried about flooding. one protective measure, we talk about people use all the ti

right now we want to start with meteorologist kari hall getting a look at what's going on with that weather shoo we've seen the rain hit or miss and that's the kind of weather we will see throughout the day. so it's still wet for all of the bay area even though you may not see that rain falling at this point. much of the rain has been over slap know and contra costa county. i have give you a close look at storm ranger this is our mobile doppler radar that gives us a second by second update as the rain continues to move in. right now it's getting heavier for concord, it's shoving through shore acres and approaching pittsburg. if you will be driving on highway 4 heading west it's going to be wet at times. as we go through the day we will see more light rain spreading in and this will mostly be for the south bay, the east bay and also the peninsula. pockets of rain may also become quite heavy and by this afternoon we could be tracking a few storms. so i will have more details on that coming up in just a few minutes. mike, you've been tracking the impact out there on the roads. >>> really lefto

kari is back in a couple of minutes.tinez junior high school canceled classes after someone scrawled a violent threat on a bathroom wall. school leaders stay threat that was found doesn't appear to be credible. so they're not sure. they're going on resume classes on monday. also, one woman's dash cam canyoned road rage. jodi hernandez spoke to the woman who recorded it all. >> i had no idea. >> reporter: she watched a case of road rage get violent right in front of her. she caught on it her dash camera. >> that's a bat. a melt bat. that's totally going to cause crazy things to happen. >> reporter: it starts when the white car appears to be trying to fast red one in the midst of oncoming traffic. he gets out and confronts him only to be greeted a minute later by a baseball bat. >> both drivers are clearly exhibiting behavior that's inappropriate. >> reporter: authorities say it is never wise to confront someone on the road. the best option? call police. in this case, a baseball bat. it could have been a knife or a gun. sh

kari -- it )s coming right on time. this storm will last for a while. this connects with moisture all the way over toward hawaii. and you step outside and you can feel that humidity. it definitely feels warmer and very sticky. so this is going to boost the amount of rainfall we are going to see. and as of right now, some of the heavier rainfall worked its way to the inland area. the east bay, we are seeing the rain come down, almost .2 of an hour. extending to the south bay. in san jose, it is much lighter. only a few hundredths of an inch and it will get lighter as we get a break. i wanted to show you where all of this is coming from. we have an area of low pressure offshore and it is targeting southern quafl the heaviest rain. so we are going to continue to watch this as we can possibly have the danger of mud slides in montecito. as we get a look now at what's happening, sharon, you spoke with an emergency official or someone who knows more about that. >> that's right. i spoke with the search and rescue and he said why they need to listen to the warni

let's check in with vianey right now, she is in for kari this morning tracking everything.t radar, the rain showing a lot off the coast right now. >> now we're seeing that moving in. we have our storm ranger it's up and scanning on top of san bruno mountain right now, you can see these pockets of rain where you see the yellow and orange hues those are the heavier pockets of rain, san francisco, san bruno. if we move towards another location you can see that rain really starting to pick up. what we can also tell from this map is that that line of showers that's off the coast is going to start making a big difference within the next couple minutes. we are expecting that to see a big change within the next half hour or so. richmond right now is expected to get some good amount of rainfall and then berkeley will be on tap to get some of those heavy showers. so if you notice right here we've got those showers pushing through berkeley, we've also got pockets of rain moving through the south bay right now, san jose, the milpitas area, saratoga. these initial pockets are just the l
