mike, now you have two crashes in oakland. >> i do, kari. i turned the camera, looked northbound. the approach to coliseum. northbound 98 right where we're looking at the start to the headlights. report of a car that went off the roadway. i've been watching it. does look like one set of headlights off on the shoulder, maybe lanes are clear at this point. looking at maps through the area and i don't see slowing here. the other crash on surface streets 98 and bancroft. overpass deadly crash on those oakland streets, not far from 580, near academy, a park in the area as well. this is on city streets and blocking the intersection 98 currently blocked. we're told by pd there's going to be another couple hours of investigation. my hope is everything opens up for the morning around the school area. we're tracking that in the newsroom again, 98 and bancroft with a deadly crash overnight p 580, interstate 84 fine despite the crash on the shoulder. contra costa, concord, that's just fine and back bend me at antioch, kari talking about the fair. south bay no problems for our street sensors,

we're seeing that across the bay area, which is increasing the fire danger. >> kari hall continues our team coverage this morning. >> and it's all about the location too because you have strong winds coming in from the west. and we are seeing that as we look at san francisco and oakland. and then you have these hills and that wind gets funneled, kind of squeezed down through some of the low-lying areas and so we are going to have wind gusts possibly over 40 miles per hour today and sustained winds in byron at 20 miles an hour. so that will be the concern through the rest of the day as our temperatures start to come up and the humidity goes down. right now humidity at 48%. we had some nice recovery overnight with the humidity coming up close to 80 percent and then as we go through the day it's going to become drier and warmer with highs up to 70 degrees. at least today those temperatures are going to stay low. as we get a live look outside in san jose right now, mostly sunny skies and we'll see a few clouds mixing in throughout the day in santa clara. we'll only make it into the mid-60s

let's go to kari hall to get us out the door this morning. >> get yourself ready too.e have some cool temperatures starting out. let's go to livermore for the school day forecast. a lot of clouds as you wake up and look out the window and heading out the door. it's going to be in the low 50s and look how fast it warms up. our temperatures go from 50 to 76 degrees by early afternoon. we're not going to stop there. we're going to head to the lower 80s for morgan hill. 83 in concord and 76 in santa rosa, san francisco keeps the low 60s and clouds lingering throughout the morning. and mike, you're still looking at the pretty good friday commute. >> and pretty good combined with friday is great. 6:31, almost 6:32. we'll watch the clock change. a little change for san jose, slight build for 101 approaching tully. that's kind of it. hayward hasn't show any problems. a live look the reason for the lighter backup towards the bay bridge, the berkeley curve is so light, not many cars on the roads but the metering lights are still on. approaching the toll plaza for the bay bridge.

kari just showed the live shot. all lanes cleared north 101 and university but slowing on the sensors and folks held up in a quick traffic break at embarcadero. all lanes are open. in the south county 101 is at speed, san martin through morgan hill and into san jose and no delays for the summit, highway 17. over here we're looking at behind my head the little slowing over there out of the altamont pass. the construction cleared and commute has begun on rash and m. i'm hearing it may be scattered across all lanes but do not hear about a full closure. i'm tracking that for you as well. the san mateo bridge westbound across the span, we can see clearly but we did have low clouds and fog as well yesterday. so there may be an issue as far as visibility later on but right now we're looking fine. there's mist on the lens that did hit near the berkeley curve. once again those crews just about clear the last of the vehicles here north 101 and university. back to you. >> thank you very much, mike. a potentially big day in cou
