are we getting some cooler temperatures today, kari? >> it won't be that much cooler, unfortunately. it will be a while until we get relief. we may see some lightning strikes that may be happening over the central valley, right over i-5. you can see south of los gados, some showers going on and really lighting up the sky. we are seeing a lot of lightning strikes over the sierra foothills and it's unfortunately going to continue with higher humidity. that's a shot at the clear skies. let me show you our temperature trend for the day. it starts out humid in the upper 60s and we'll still see temperatures in the upper 80s for much of the afternoon. normal high temperatures about 83 degrees and we'll hit 92. it's still going to be hot, reaching 96 in livermore, fairfield, 98 degrees and low 90s for much of the north bay with san francisco in the mid- 70s. that's where we are seeing some relief from the high heat. and there will still be a wide range of temperatures tomorrow with some low 70s in half moon bay. san mateo reaching 77 degrees an

it's hump day and kari has been talking about these cooler temperatures . today is a big appearance. >> it really is hump day because we are going downhill into the holiday weekend and temperature-wise take a look at pittsburg with temperatures in the mid 60s right now. a little bit of a gusty wind coming to the delta . more than a gusty wind. we will see more of this throughout the day has temperatures stay on the cool side. only at 76 degrees at lunchtime. if you are taking your lunch outside, hold onto everything because it will still be windy. and in fremont and dublin we are heading to 77. 66 in san francisco and a chilly day and half moon bay with a high of 62. novato will see 81 tomorrow it gets cooler . for a lot of these inland spots that have been so hot these past few days with the fog near the coast and a gusty wind transporting that cool air inland summit liberal mark will reach 81. but look at friday. most of us will stay in the 70s with some 60s by the end of the and coastline. it's a big drop in temperatures compared to what we've had recent
