we begin with kari hall tracking your forecast.gin with a wet monday. >> yeah with rain pouring. you may want to roll over and get back in bed. and just go back to sleep. with our temperatures in the low 60s, you've got to get up, and get this day started, head out to work or school. highs today so nice and comfortable. mainly in the 70s all across the bay and the winds picking up too with a lot of sunshine, and a mixture of sun and clouds in some spots. so i'll detail all of that coming up, and a look ahead at what to expect for the rest of the week coming up in a few minutes. let's check in now with mike tracking a few slow downs across the bay. >> yeah, kari. and in general, nothing really surprising, but the slowing is starting because of that commute. here's the berkeley curve, as folks make their way toward the bay bridge. this is west 580 coming in as well. a look at your map. you didn't see any folks stopping. a report of a crash near the berkeley curve. i don't see any lanes blocked, haven't heard of any further updates. h

checking in with meteorologist kari hall. good morning. >> watching the rain move across parts of the south bay and also the east bay getting in on some wet weather as we get a look now at what's happening. some heavy downpours in a few spots and we've seen this streaming across the bay area the past few hours. looks like it will stay with us for a little while longer, through at least the morning and maybe early afternoon. we see light rain moving across parts of the north bay and we still have lots more where that came from. we will have more in the microclimate forecast. let's check in now with anthony to see how this rain may impact the roads. >> it is wet outside. this spot from san jose, you can see the sheen on the ground. it is wet and damp and, of course, we haven't seen rain like this, at least, well, since back in the winter beginning of the year. keep it in mind. it will be a little bit wet out there as that oil rises to the surface. south bay, no problem. same deal for the east bay. back to you guys. >> thank you

north of that fire, meteorologist kari hall, it is so hot, particularly for october. >> yeah. it's been well above average with our highs. usually at this time of year, in the upper 70s. we're in the 90s. expecting that today. as we take a live look from mt. hamilton, thin layer of smoke coming from wildfires, trapped in the inversion where the air sinks and the smoke is riding along that. as we take a look at microclimates out in, it is already in the 80s in the east bay. but as we get a closer look at south bay, we have 80s there, too. morgan hill's at 81. 81 san martin. downtown san jose at 82 degrees. so temperatures jumping up quickly in san francisco. it's in the low 70s. not much of a wind at this point. and the wind direction is light and variable. we'll see that as we go throughout the rest of the day with hot temperatures that will be topping out in the 90s in the south bay and the peninsula as well up to 90 degrees in palo alto. san francisco high of 82 degrees. 94 napa, 93 brentwood. danville, high of 95. but this will be the hottest day of the week. looking better

here's meteorologist kari hall. good morning. >> good morning. we can't even get a cloud to form out here. and we're hoping for some rain as we go into the next few days. i'll show you what the models are showing us as we go a little bit deeper into this. let's take a live look right now at outer sunset. you see not even the fog is present right now. and our temperatures are anywhere from the upper 60s to lower 70s at this hour. it's 73 degrees in the east bay, the peninsula's at 70 degrees. let's take a closer look at the east bay. we do have mostly 70s there as you head over towards brentwood and livermore. it's 71 degrees in alameda now at 68 degrees. north bay at 69 degrees and mostly sunny skies. a look at the wind forecast. as you step out there now really doesn't feel that breezy except for half-moon bay with the wind coming in now from the south. so we don't have the on shore ocean breeze happening right now. but it does turn a little bit more southwesterly as we go through the day. and the winds will be picking up. so it will be a breezy
